About this cottage rental

You arrive at Bill's Cottage along a quiet country lane, passing farmland on each side with glimpses out to the hills in the distance. It is set on a working farm just outside Turkdean and Northleach and has been renovated to a high standard while keeping many of the original features in place. The cottage is the perfect setting for a family get together, or a reunion of friends who just need time away to reminisce and build new memories. You will find wooden beams and an original fireplace with its exposed stone surround, stone flooring and window seats and images showing the restoration process of this old farm cottage. Providing a base to explore the surrounding area you have everything you could need for your time in the Cotswolds.

The heart of the cottage is a large sitting room which looks out to the garden. Gather here in front of the fire for long conversations, planning trips and competitive matches of charades. If you're staying during the summer you can take your meals outside to the lovely garden where you are enveloped in the scent of lavender, but if not the kitchen has a dining area for serving meals made from the ingredients you bought at the local markets found that day. Upstairs three bedrooms give you the rest you need after days spent laughing, walking and marvelling at the Cotswold countryside.

In the garden you may hear the hum of farmyard machinery which adds to this rural setting. With an outdoor dining area and a couple of loungers you can bring a book outside, watch the children and dog race around the lawn and take advantage of the BBQ for slow cooked meals. You are spoilt for locations to visit here, Cheltenham is around a thirty minute drive where you can meander through the regency town's streets. Much loved Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford are nearby and you have a choice of National Trust estates.

We had a wonderful stay at Bills Cottage. The cottage is very spacious with three good sized bedrooms and a large lounge ideal for our family. It is well maintained and clean throughout with good amenities, the kitchen was well stocked with bread, eggs, milk and a cake left for us by the owner. We had regular visits from the horse, Finn, who would come looking for treats. Surrounding countryside was lovely with the local village of Northleach just a couple of miles away, where there are a few shops and couple of pubs. We enjoyed our stay at Bills Cottage and highly recommend it.

Bill’s Cottage was everything my wife envisioned for the perfect English countryside experience. It was easy to find, easy to access, and from the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. There was a fresh loaf of bread, flowers on the table, cake waiting for us, and even milk in the fridge so we could immediately make a pot of tea after our travels — such thoughtful touches.Mary checked in with us the next day to make sure everything was okay. She and her son live nearby on the property, but honestly, we never would have known they were there unless we needed them. It felt very private and peaceful. One of our favorite parts was Mary’s horse coming up to visit us looking for treats — which Mary kindly supplied. It added so much charm to the stay. The location was absolutely perfect. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet we were still conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore in the Cotswolds.Everything in the listing was accurate, and the cottage itself was beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly enjoyable. We truly loved our stay and would absolutely come back again.

We can recommend a stay at Bill's cottage. We stayed for a short week at Bill's cottage, the cottage is set of off a quiet street in the middle of the countryside. The accommodation has everything to provide for a family stay. Good sized bedrooms with plenty of space to accommodate 6 people. Nice beds, clean bathrooms an excellent kitchen and living room. We also really enjoyed the space for dropping our stuff and being able to do our laundry (which is a huge plus when travelling with toddlers). The owner is super kind and came to say hello when we arrived, she had foreseen a cake and left some eggs, bread for us as well. Finn the horse is a real pleasure for the kids, who loved to see him appear at lunch or dinner time. We really enjoyed our family time at this location and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
