Cobwebs everywhere and had to clean ourselves

Spacious property. Breakfast options were provided but this was not mentioned in any of the communications so we had already bought provisions

Cobwebs were everywhere (and spiders) which did not give the impression of being clean. We spent about 40mins hoovering them up. I contacted the owner and she just thanked us for cleaning. As we were only staying one night, not good value for money in this regard. I would have expected a discount.

Review of Manor House

Good location and property has lots of potential.

Very dirty property and awful smell throughout. Stained seats & carpets, dust and cobwebs everywhere. Hundreds of dead flies, food / crumbs in kitchen, dining and lounge. Pet hair throughout (including on beds). Very disappointed considering substantial cleaning charge was applied to the booking. Not all facilities available as advertised - no washing machine, tumble dryer, coffee machine, "private pool" had been left to the elements so not as per images and not clean enough to use. Similarly sauna was dirty and difficult to access, not really fit for use. All bedding & pillows were feather, meaning allergy sufferers from our party had to travel to supermarket in Taunton to purchase different pillows. Broken fixtures in a number of rooms (taps not working, etc.) Also, lots of personal belongings left throughout so unable to use cupboards / wardrobes.

Nice place, good value for money.

This was a nice comfortable cottage for a 2 night stay. It is well furnished and supplied with pretty much everything you need.

On our first night, the family across the road had kids (pre teens!) partying through to the small hours. The house itself is cleaned after each visitor - but don't look under the beds because you will see these places don't get visited by a passing vacuum cleaner.

Disappointing and dirty felt more like a youth hostel

The location was lovely and convenient for visiting family. The exterior of the cottage was lovely.

The property was not as shown in pictures. The inside was dirty and unkempt. The food provided was stale. It was such a disappointment for us, as we were looking forward to a nice relaxing stay with our family, but we didn’t even feel able to sit downstairs. It also smelt of cannabis. Despite repeated attempts to contact the owner and booking.com we have heard nothing back.

Loads of space, comfortable and provisions for a delicious breakfast.

Loads of space, very comfortable and very clean. Bread, milk and eggs along with tea and coffee was a bonus which ensured we had a great breakfast before heading off on our bikes. Local pub within walking distance had tasty food. Would definitely use again if we are in the area.

Comfortable and very enjoyable.

The location was very rural and quiet. It did mean we ate at the house each night, but it was well equipped so that was not an issue. The house was very clean and comfortable. There were basic provisions for a breakfast meal, which was very helpful.

There were two cats, who although very lovely, were quite intrusive, I do not like cats on tables and work surfaces.

The size, wasn’t expecting a whole house! Nice touch having bread butter milk and cereal on arrival too.

Could do with an outside light on the car park area. Bathroom floor a little tired.

We loved it and the kids did too!

It's a lot bigger than I was expecting, a great place to spend a weekend with the family. The owner was so welcoming. We never met her in person but she left a lovely note and even left some milk and other supplies for us. The rooms are a great size and the whole place has a perfect balance of modern and comfortable but old and unique country house. We would definitely stay again. The area is so charming and there is a mini waterfall outside, what may have once been a water wheel. You can hear it at night though through the window. The heating in the house works very well.

There was nothing we didn't like. It took us a while to get the oven working and there aren't many plug sockets, but that is to be expected given how old the property is.

A lovley, spacious and warm place to spend time with family.

Lovely Friendly touches such as eggs, fresh bread and milk. Hosts were very easy to contact when we got a bit lost enroute, and keen to help and advise. We would definitely return for another visit.

A few times the TV wouldn’t work for us in the evenings, but this was a very minor issue.

Hübsches Haus, hatten aber leider mehr erwartet

Das Haus bietet viel Platz und ist gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist sehr abseits gelegen (hätte man leisere Nachbarn, wäre es schön ruhig). Der Kontakt zum Vermieter fand nur online statt, war aber stets freundlich.

Es war leider nicht wirklich sauber. Überquellende Müllbehälter stehen direkt vor der Unterkunft. Extrem schlechtes Wlan/Netzempfang. Die Betten waren sehr unbequem und mit Daunendecken/-kissen ausgestattet, die sehr gepiekt haben, so dass wir sie nicht nutzen konnten. Leider haben unsere Nachbarn sich nicht an die Ruhezeiten gehalten, so dass es wenig erholsam war und wir nach einer Nacht weitergezogen sind.
