What a beautiful, tranquil, sanctuary Brian and Sheila have created with this yurt in the woods. It really is an exceptional spot. Nestled in amongst woodland that they planted themselves, with oak, birch, chestnut, and cherry trees, there is a spacious and comfortable yurt fitted with all mod cons - all highly rated for energy efficiency in line with their green values. Brian and Sheila were so friendly and welcoming. They showed me around their small holding and the incredible sustainable home they have built, then dropped me off at the pub in their EV in the evening to save me the walk. If you love nature and appreciate a friendly welcome, then this is the place for you!
The only thing that could have improved my stay would be some muesli or a little something left in the yurt for breakfast. They had left a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge which was great, but I didn't have anything for breakfast and had to set off hiking in the morning on an empty stomach and it is quite a remote place so there wasn't much around. So pack your own breakfast if you're coming to stay and don't have a car. All in all though, it was one of the coolest places I've ever stayed.
