Sea View House

What a beautiful view! The location close to the ocean and town could not have been better. Again, can not beat the view. Easy access and parking. Wifi was great. Place was clean.

Even though the host came to greet us the first night, there was nothing personable at the house. A personal message to us instead of computer copied instructions might be more pleasant. As for the house, it was cold. Smelled like a campfire from the wood stove. Yes, there was peat moss logs to burn but we did not know how to use that stove. A notebook with instructions for the house, with some history of the place would have been nice. There was a couple of notes on how to turn on the hot water and heat. The kitchen had barely any tools like a strainer, grater, etc. The oven for baking does not work. Fan blows but no heating. The bed mattresses need to be updated. They squeaked with every turn. Furniture can use updating. They are a little outdated.

Der Geruch im Haus ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Küchenschränke könnten auch mal erneuert werden. Sieht nicht sehr hygienisch darin aus.

The place was so charming and had such a beautiful view. We were a few seconds drive from a mini market and the best pub in the world, Paddy’s! We wished we didn’t have to leave. Owner was super friendly and responsive! House was cozy and comfy. Would be awesome to add measuring cups, measuring spoons and a colander to the kitchen.

The property management company is a complete nightmare if you need to get ahold of them. They send automated responses and never actually address your issue then say the window to discuss topic has closed. The furniture in the front bedroom is tight and awkward around the bed so both my husband and I hit our elbows every night and one night I managed to hit my eye and give myself a black eye.

Amazing location on the wild atlantic way

Owner was unfriendly on arrival because we had our dog with us. Very surprising and disappointing - we specifically booked the property as it was labelled pet friendly in booking.com. We received this message from Sykes Cottages via booking.com: Please note you can bring up to a maximum of 1 pet(s) to this property. Property is very basic and there is a damp smell downstairs that needs fixing.
