The location and the view over the mountains àd the sea are genuinely beautiful, and the bed linen was clean and comfortable.

The listing photos show a home in excellent condition, but that was not what we found. The property is old and poorly maintained, and had clearly not been deep-cleaned — only a quick surface clean. The kitchen was in such a state (rusted cookware, a heavily soiled toaster oven, a dirty cooktop) that we did not use it for the whole stay. The sofa was old and stained. Several walls were marked and dirty, with unrepaired streaking from a previous water leak on a wall and ceiling. The dryer's crumbling door seal left debris on our clothes, so we had to re-wash everything at our next stop. The bedroom curtains have no blackout lining, a floor tile was cracked, a bedside lamp was broken, and the slippers were shared rather than individual. The Wi-Fi did not work reliably, which matters if you work remotely. When we raised these points, the manager's representative came and photographed the issues but nothing was cleaned or put right. For the price, this needs proper upkeep and a thorough clean. We booked several other places across Japan on the same trip and all were well-maintained; this was the exception.
