Private Double en-suite Room at the Groves

Everything about The Groves was perfect. Emily, my host, was friendly and helpful - I arrived at 11.30 pm and was met in person. The bed was so comfortable that I almost overslept, and breakfast was top quality: "proper" bread, fresh croissants etc. Above all, the room was exceptionally clean. My only disappointment was that I was only there for one night...

Nothing - having to leave, perhaps...

A great little find. Needed a one night stopover for work and found this place. Communication with owner was quick and easy, had to rearrange arrival time, they were accommodating and agreeable. Greeted me on arrival, met Jonathan, lovely guy, nice chat and showed me around before leaving me to treat myself with a welcome cup of tea from the refreshments tray - good kettle !! and fresh filtered water in the fridge too. Slept well, shower very good and I was away. If I have to come back this way I'll be hoping they've got a vacancy !!

The accommodation is exactly as described. It’s not huge but manageable thanks to thoughtful design and layout. Bed was comfortable, bedding OK and the towels very good. In a small space, to have two chairs, a table, a fridge and microwave were all bonuses although there are a couple of takeaways nearby and it’s only a twenty min walk to town centre. A kettle and tray with mugs, coffee and tea was also provided along with some biscuits. I was impressed that decaf coffee was available. Parking was right outside the door. The host was available when contacted but otherwise kept to themselves. A very comfortable overnight stay with very thoughtful hosts.

We were going to a local pub The Farriers arms for a 60th Birthday. It was 2 mins away Walking.
