Cat Ba Spring Homestay

This was such a lovely week! Staff were super nice - especially Judy, she was super helpful with everything! She ordered us a bus to Cat Ba and then to Ninh Binh so everything went smoothly :) Bungalows were nice and tidy, every meal was tasty, pool was clean and scooters were available for anyone who can drive :) We planned to have just four nights, but we were so happy, that we extended our stay two times, so we spent there 8 nights in total! It was our beautiful little paradise 🥰 Beach near to the homestay is small and empty :) But with scooter, you can go to any beach possible :) There’s also a local bus going every 30 minutes with a bus stop just ten minutes from the homestay. With Judy’s help we took a boat trip to Lan Ha Bay and we couldn’t wish for more! Beautiful, almost no boat in sight! Such a nice day 🥰

The outside area is very pretty at night and quite private. We really enjoyed the large pool in the evening. The room was spacious and the air conditioning was excellent.

The bathroom was not very clean, there was an unpleasant smell for the duration of our stay and the shower head was completely broken when we arrived. I made this aware to staff on our second night but I was not offered any sort of apology or discount on the price to accommodate for the bathroom which was a shame.

Location is great. Much chill and quieter than the town. The pool is great. The host speak good English and very helpful.

Their Vietnamese guests are loud and littering everywhere.

The staff was lovely. Even though they did not speak English they tried their best and were very welcoming. The food was nice.

The accommodation does not look like the pictures. Especially the outside area was not like we expected. The pictures should be updated. Just a heads up, the beach nearby is filled with plastic so you have to take a taxi to one of the nicer beaches uptown.
