Cat Ba Love House

The staff were so helpful and lovely. The lady on the front desk arranged us onward buses and let us rent scooters and did laundry all for a great price. We really enjoyed the communal areas it was so lovely to sit in for meals and playing games. And the food was good. The pool was also great fun. Their puppy was the cutest and friendliest dog ever. We booked as two couples and would highly recommend for couples or groups. Great value for money.

The location was a bit away from the main town on cat ba but we quite liked that. It made it more peaceful. It just meant you had to get a scooter or a taxi there. We also found a couple of bugs in our room which wasn’t great

Beautiful scenery, full of butterflies and flowers, a nice pool, cute puppy and a very friendly host family who always went above and beyond to make guests feel at home.

Nothing

The property is absolutely beautiful, away from the centre and so peaceful. The family running the home stay were lovely and really helpful. The room was comfortable and the AC works really well The food in the restaurant was nice for a quick, convenient dinner.

It’s quite far out of town but we knew this in advance so it wasn’t an issue. You can rent mopeds from the home stay and they helped organise a taxi into town for the evenings which was about a 15 minute drive and 150k each way

The area that Love House was in was beautiful, up in the mountains with goats and chickens, surrounded by nature The staff arranged our transfer from Hai Phong airport, including a crossing by cable car. They were helpful and very kind, offering a taxi service down to Cat Ba town. It would be a great place to get away from it all. They were upset when we left early, but it just wasn't the place for us for reasons below.

The bungalow we stayed in (for only 1 night, instead of 5) was advertised as having a private pool, it wasn't. It was used by all the guests and made our bungalow feel very overlooked. The bungalow itself had a strong smell of something like varnish and it felt really unfinished and a bit shabby, not worth the price considering we paid less for a nice suite in Cat Ba. On leaving, we paid for 4 night even though we only stayed for one. I think that they were hit by last year's typhoon pretty badly and I don't like to be so down on them, perhaps the other rooms are better, but this was our experience. We stayed here in off peak season, it's probably more lively in high season as it looks from their ad. Still not a private pool though!
