The manager, Nea (?), was fabulous and very helpful. The Homestay was just like advertised and we would recommend it for anyone wanting a peaceful location.
They arranged taxis to collect/drop off from the connection with the Cat Ba Express, and also to the caves and National Park. The other staff were helpful and friendly although didn’t speak English
The only thing to improve would
be the shower - Luke warm water and a slow flow

Loved the pool, location was good and out of town. The staff were amazing and attentive, helped us with booking taxis and a boat trip that was outstanding. We got some washing done. The breakfast was great, as was all of the food we ate there, especially the pork with eggs! Lovely end to our time in Vietnam.
The bungalow we stayed in is in need of a lick of paint. The bathroom needs a total re-vamp. I expected it to be better, from the photos on booking.com.

Beautiful garden area especially at night when the lights are on and breakfast was tasty
Very far from anything and there is NO grab only private taxis which can add up fast. You will have to rely on the staff to get around who are helpful but that’s just something to keep in mind.
The rooms were not as clean as they show in the photos. It seems that “quick” cleans are done, which if done too much overtime, it’s noticeable. The rooms need a deep clean for sure, mop, scrub, etc.

Definitely the best accomodation i could have in Catba. Exactly what i was looking for: great and kind staff, authentic and comfortable, calm and relaxing. This was just perfect.
