A comfortable, practical place to stay close to the centre of Stevenage New Town

The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay; close to Stevenage town centre, its attractions and rail station. It is a pretty well-appointed property, with a comfortable bed and further options in the living room if you need additional sleeping space. The kitchen also has everything you need - hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Bonus is the little garden space with BBQ, though we didn't use that.

We arrived on a very warm day and the property was difficult to cool down. The desk fan provided was broken on arrival but, in fairness, the hosts replaced it within a couple of hours of reporting it. The heat is more something to bear in mind, rather than a criticism. Some complimentary tea/coffee would have been appreciated too.

It was clean

It was too warm, no fan and ground floor with single female occupant so could risk leaving windows/door open. Iron didn’t work and there was no tea or coffee or shower gel - I’ve stayed at numerous apartments for work and this is the worst one. Not the best area either.

Overall, it's a stylish and delightful clean place with a helpful host

The one-bedroom apartment is reasonably sized and has been decorated with great taste, giving it a stylish and modern look. The small garden, complete with a barbecue, chairs, and a table, is a nice touch, especially for a cozy outdoor meal. The place was very clean upon arrival, with towels and toilet paper provided. Bear in mind you do need to bring your bathroom essentials. The kitchen is fully functional and a real highlight of the apartment. It includes a working oven and stove, a very nice-sized fridge and freezer, and is well-equipped with plates, glasses, and cutlery. The kitchen itself is a good size and even has a small dining area, which makes it a comfortable space for cooking and eating.

There was no hand wash in the toilet. Although advertised as suitable for 4 people, the accommodation does have some limitations. The sofa bed in the living area is only really suitable for one adult, or perhaps two children, but not two adults comfortably. Thankfully, there was an additional chair that could be converted into a single bed, which provided extra sleeping space. The main radiators seemed to be out of order and had been replaced by electrical heaters, but these were quite weak and didn’t warm up the space rapidly. However the host was incredibly helpful and responsive, even at very short notice, when I reported the struggle.

The property was decorated above our expectations, which was lovely. It is only a small place, but it was perfect for our needs, comfy and private.

We could walk to the shops, under the road walking tunnels, but it was easier using the car.

Great apartment for our weekend activities in Stevenage town centre

This apartment was in the perfect location for our needs. It was nice and clean and there were little touches that made it feel homely. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He answered all my pre-visit questions promptly. The kitchen had all the essential items of cookware, crockery and cutlery. The shower was powerful and there were plenty of towels for us to use. The little garden was really nice in the evenings (it was very hot when we stayed; too hot to sit out in the day), private and there was a BBQ for guests to use.
