Fabulous accommodation. Top of a very long steep hill, which is great for the views but a long tough walk back from town. Thankfully there is plenty of reasonably priced parking in Matlock close to the town centre. Two nice pubs nearby, one two mins walk away, the other 5 mins walk away. All in all, a fabulous place with lovely hosts and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone 10/10.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, stunning and Mark and Kate have really thought of everything. We were blown away and although it looks lovely and stunning on the website / when advertised it definitely exceeded our expectations. The accommodation is very well thought out and all the furniture / items are quality pieces and it really feels a home away from home. There is access to laundry facilities and the self contained flats really haa everything and you couldn't ask for more. The accommodation is very clean and there was even milk, tea and biscuits left for us on arrival. Absolutely stunning views and superb accommodation you couldn't fault. Mark and Kate have put an information pack of the area in the property. Coming away with friends it's been absolutely loverly being here and couldn't fault the accommodation. We would definitely recommend and stay here again if ever coming to Matlock. The only thing to bare in mind is that it's a first floor property with steps to access and at the top of the village in Matlock up a steep bank. The property doesn't claim to accessible but people need to bare that in mind if they where to book. If we plan to come back to Matlock we would definitely be booking the skylark view flat again. Once again we have a lovely stay and thank you so much.

The location and views fantastic east access to drive to other places of interest. Property is very comfy has everything you require. Thinking of booking for a week next year. Very nice pub 2 minutes walk away and plenty of places to eat and drink in the town

Only the step hill back to the property was a challenge for me but can get a taxi if need be. Would not stop me going back again

Very steep walk back from town

The apartment was fantastic with everything you needed for a few days away. The views were spectacular.

Great location with fantastic views. Very comfortable & clean. Communication with hosts exceptional. Nice touches with biscuits & chocolate buttons. Highly recommend.

Our accommodation was Beautiful, very clean and tidy. Modern, and very stylishly decorated. Really large & well equipped kitchen, dining & living space. We met the hosts as we arrived (only as they were entering their apartment) who were very friendly and just covered over all amenities. We received tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits & chocolate on arrival and some bottled water. Which we thought was most considerate. We found the beds were comfortable. This property is about 15 min walk, into town is downhill the walk uphill is slightly longer, you will burn a few calories for sure and maybe get a little breathless. Taxis are plentiful from Matlock Town & Bath. All in all a very enjoyable stay and will definitely recommend to everyone.

Not very accessible. The stairs are pretty steep & for a family of four carry a number of items made it a little difficult.

The motion sensor light in the passage was a bit obtrusive but everything else was perfect.

A lovely clean, modern apartment with everything you could want for a long or short stay. Great views, over Matlock and beyond. We stayed in Skylark View and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in this area. The building, Jackson House, has an interesting history once being a 'Hydro' house and military quarters. It's perched near the top of a very steep hill which wasn't a problem for us having a car, but anyone on foot may find walking tough going, especially if coming back up from Matlock center. There's a nice friendly, traditional, little pup just yards along the road called the Thorn Tree and a great fish n chip shop (Wellington St Fish bar) just a little further up the street both worthy of a visit. The area has lots of interesting places to see, Haddon Hall being one we went to, a stunning 900 year old Tudor mansion which should be on everyone's 'to do' list if visiting this part of the UK. Also the town of Bakewell is well worth a look. We really enjoyed our weekend here and look forward to returning next year.

Beautiful apartment with lovely views. Great location, just a short walk to the town centre.

Lovely modern apartment, full kitchen, comfortable beds, 2 washrooms, one with bath plus shower, other shower. Gorgeous views, but high up the hill, so makes walking into town, though not far is hard work on the return.

Hall has a sensor light that keeps clicking on and off if room doors are not closed. Everything else was great.

Kate and Mark were very friendly and helpful, we had cookies and chocolates on arrival. The apartment contained everything you needed, was super clean and comfortable, and the views really are stunning!

Lovely views over Matlock & the surrounding countryside. A spacious, very well maintained & well equipped apartment.

Location had some wonderful views and the hosts were very accommodating and responsive to messages. The apartment was well cleaned and stocked, and felt very homely.

Only thing to bare in mind, dependent on which direction you come from, the walk to the apartment from town can be very steep.

Geräumiges, komfortables und sauberes 2-Zimmer-Apartment in schöner Aussichtslage oberhalb von Matlock. Moderne, zweckmäßige Ausstattung. Problemlose Kommunikation mit den freundlichen Vermietern, die im Haus wohnen. Obwohl Schlüsselempfang per Außensafe vereinbart war, wurden wir persönlich empfangen, was die Sache noch einfacher machte. Die steile Lage am Stadtrand oberhalb von Matlock garantiert eine schöne Aussicht, macht aber einen Mietwagen fast unabdingbar, will man nicht gewaltig ins Schwitzen kommen, um das Haus zu erreichen.

Eine Geschirrspülmaschine hätte den Komfort erhöht, ist aber nicht zwingend notwendig. Ich empfand meine Bettmatratze als zu weich, was aber natürlich Geschmacksache ist. Mein Bad hatte keine Steckdosen.
