La Maison de Jean by Maison Bacou

Location is excellent.

Check in is a little confusing. Parking car in the little carpark and walk approx 200m up the road. Turn right and then left to find number 5 and follow instructions on checking email. Return to car with fob. Drive up to hotel using the fob to lower the road barrier. Garage is a small archway immediately after right turn. Through some green doors. Simple when you know how. 😃

Good location: clean room and decent breakfast. Also very helpful in allowing us to leave bags in the location after check out so we could explore the town

Some of the furniture in the room was a little rough and ready while the automatic lights in the shower/toilet was irritating at night;

The location is great although we struggled to find it, its off a main street and tucked up a little road behind some houses. It is very close to the Medieval city (short walk up the hill), and close to a lovely selection of restaurants. The views of the city walls are absolutely beautiful, it was especially lovely at night when the walls were lit up. The place was very clean and well decorated. Good for one night stay, but we really struggled to sleep well so unfortunately we probably wouldn't return. Breakfast was good but fairly limited, especially if you are gluten free the only options are fruit and yoghurt.

Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. Our window faced the courtyard/main entrance and we were kept awake by people standing out there at midnight smoking and chatting, and everytime someone came in through the main door we were woken up by the sounds. The walls are fairly thin. Another thing which isn't ideal is there is big square opening in the wall from the bathroom to the bedroom, and the door is a thin sliding door meaning there is very little privacy. There is however a separate toilet at the end of the lobby/coridoor. Also the automatic lights in the bathroom go off every 3 seconds even when you're still in there which is very annoying especially when you are trying to shower.
