Exquisite one-bedroom apartment on Av du Casino

Alojamiento perfecto, muy bonito y con todas las comodidades, está muy bien equipado y en muy buena ubicación, frente al casino. Todo estaba bastante limpio y la llegada autónoma es muy sencilla gracias a las indicaciones del anfitrión. Dispone de supermercados cerca y la estación de tren está a pocos minutos andado

Location was perfect - close to everything and in a quiet courtyard

There were no wine glasses or toaster

V nice and spacious apartment (compared to other Swiss apartments) + amenities. One has to lift the baggage to the room but that's true for most Swiss apartments. Location proximity to the lake and station is quite good. And finally the good host!

I did like being able to walk along the lake - only a block away. I did like having a kitchen so I could eat a few meals in. I appreciated the hot pot for tea. A Migros grocery store is a short walk away. I did learn that there is a bus on the street - 204 or 206 - that takes you right to the train station in 3 stops - would have been good to know upon arrival. (Guess that's on me for not doing more research before I arrived!) I had a communication problem with the host about getting access - he had emailed me the instructions to open the lockbox to my personal email - I looked on booking.com to find them which is where hosts usually send them. After much frustration, I discovered the access code was in my gmail account. Again, on me, but frustrating to be sure. The price to rent this apartment was reasonable, but once I again, I learn you get what you pay for. For the very few meals I ate in the apartment, I realize a hotel closer to the train station would have been a much better option for me.

Maybe it's that I'm older (71) and my perspective is different, but I would not describe this apartment as "exquisite." It was average/ok to me. It was a long walk from the train station (I didn't figure out the bus or think to take a taxi until after my first time to the apartment-after a long travel day, the walk was miserable). The host might have suggested this with details to make getting to the apartment easier prior to arrival. The steps getting up to the apartment were significant (15) and steep. It was really challenging to get my luggage/bags up to the apartment. The bathroom is at the other end of the apartment from the bedroom (through the living room and kitchen) - up 3 steps - not the easiest if you need to get up in the middle of the night a few times. Little things like a proper ice cube tray, hot pads to remove things from the oven, tissues and bath mat would be nice to provide. There are signs of mold on the ceiling and in the shower along the caulk in the bathroom (see photos). If this was my rental and a guest was staying for several nights, I would have made extra towels available. I had to use one of the two provided as a bath mat. The laundry room was so sketchy I didn't use it - rather I washed my items by hand in the kitchen sink. If I could have a do over, I would have rented a hotel closer to the train station and paid more money and just ate out more. Just keeping it real!
