Lage eher abgelegen, abends dunkle Heimkehr, keine Läden in unmittelbarer Nähe. Keinen eigenen Garten oder Terrasse

Beauty and Ambience

Access to public transport. Of course it is not a concern. Just for time conscious people, you can place one wall clock somewhere in the apartment. 🙂

The Châtelard stay I rate highly for the ambience of a 15 century Castle, the panorama of the lake, mountains and Montreux below. It’s an easy walk down to the Montreux promenade; if the climb back up is too much there is a train on the hour that stops 500 metres from the Castle. The Juliette (studio) apartment appears larger than the 50m2 advertised. Parking ample for the number of apartments. Last week of April temperatures & weather were ideal, the rooms warm and could be heated if required. A fan was quickly supplied on request to cater for a hot day. Although staff appear to be on site everything is processed through email or messages on booking dot com.

Negatives are few. We had to sweep the cobwebs from behind the bed headboard, and yes expect a few insects, after all, we are surrounded by tree’s and vegetation. Speaking of which, nature has taken hold of a number of footpath and steps; the grandeur of the façade not as pristine as the website photos indicate due to nature’s plant growth and fallout, which if was groomed and kept on top of would have brought it up a little in the ratings.
