Perfect base to explore the Portofino area

We absolutely loved our stay in Portofino the apartment was in the perfect location set back from the main square it was so quiet and peaceful. The balcony was such a lovely spot between the picture perfect colourful Portofino houses. We were there in October so only had an hour or so of sun on the balcony in the middle of the day but I'm sure in the summer there would be more sun (or you would appreciate the shade as it would be hotter!) We did a lot of home-cooking so really appreciated that the kitchen was fully equipped. (We did our main shop in Santa Margherita and then topped up with little things from the very small shop in Portofino)

Peaceful, clean, and perfectly located with a great terrace.

The location was excellent – just a short walk from the parking area. There is a small uphill path, but since the distance is very short, it was not a problem at all. The terrace was wonderful, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the house was spotless. It felt very peaceful and relaxing.

Portofino apartment not recomanded

Location

I would like to share my experience regarding Portofino. It is better to live in Santa Margherita and visit Portofino. As for the Olive Bay Hotel, the location is excellent and the apartment is good, but the person in charge he needs a course on how to deal with people. How can he be more respectful and have a better way of dealing with customers The two main topics I would like to focus on are that after the money was paid to Booking,he black mail me and insisted on city tax to be paid by me or no entrance CODE which is the first time that has happened to me, and I’m using booking since 20 years and travelling monthly. Finally, he insisted on sending him my passport and the passports of the wife and children, even though I think my passport is enough. NOT ONLY He also insisted that ALL OF US TO take a pHOTO of ourselves holding our passports next to our faces 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 OR AGAIN NO ENTRY CODE THE SAME SCENARIO ALWYA NOTTTTT ROCOMAMDEDDDDDDD

Very arrogant host. We were blackmailed to pay more than listed at booking.com to receive keys

Only positive aspect is the walking distance to the port area.

Super arrogant attitude of the host - never experienced before (please read other comments as well, it is not the first time) The bathroom was not clean - please see the pictures added to my review The host blackmailed us to pay more money for local tax than stated on the booking. We had to pay this higher amount - otherwise we would not have received the code to open the lock box with the keys. (please read the review of Anne from Ireland - it happened to her as well) Misleading size of the apartment - the apartment is definitely not 70+ sqm and maximum 2 persons can fit in there. Extremely strong Odor neutralizer / Air freshener used to cover the moldy smell of the apartment - we used every opportunity to stay outside in order to avoid the headache from the strong air refreshener. The check in process is cannot be done by one person but each of the persons must fill up the form separately and take numerous pictures in order to complete the process. When the system is showing green color that the check in has been finalized - there are still several steps to be taken in order to receive the code. It was quite misleading and not smooth process. Overall, the arrogance of the host and blackmailing the guests to pay more than listed at the booking side in order not to end up on the street during the night really left strong negative mark throughout our stay. I will avoid this host next time and wish the other guests much better experience than we had...

A nice place to stay

-bed very comfortable - lovely location and very spacious place to stay -right near to all the restaurants only a 5min walk

-booking.com did say check out between 10:00 to 10:30 however host told us we have to leave at 10am. We were a bit upset about this when I told the host she said this is the rules take it or leave it basically. We were a bit upset considering we paid over €300 for one night. -could be a little more clean in areas of the house e.g near the bins, shower etc.

Great hidden gem in Portofino

The location is great it’s just over the main square and restaurants of Portofino! The apartment is small but clean and cosy and was perfect for what we needed. We didn’t use the terrace but it’s a very nice place to hang out after a long day if you visit in the warmer months! The check in process was very easy using the lockbox key and we had no issues.

Nothing Parking nearby is very expensive and it’s hard to drive close to the apartment and reverse (we had a big car!)

Small paradise corner in the jewelry box of Portofino

I have discovered a small paradise with this amazing flat in the heart of Portofino ! The fact that it is not situated directly near marina was a bonus for me, because it is quiet and you can really rest, which was my case ! Perfect address for a 3 people family stay. The key system with code changing regularly is very easy to master. The Olives bay terrace is very reactivate on WhatsApp and is of a very good help to explain how to reach the place and how, where to park car if any. Just one word : bravo Jacopo !

Would have appreciated to stay a bit more in this paradise corner ! But : I will be back 😊😏

The terrace is gorgeous and the apartment is beautifully fitted … everything you need is there. Make sure you try the lovely restaurant just near to the house.

I loved it all but do be aware it’s at the top of the hill and parking is not expensive. But honestly that is all part of the wonderful experience

Very modern place in a great location. Beds were super comfy.

You have to park at the bottom of the hill and drag luggage up. However, it’s not too bad if you pack light and I think this is pretty typical of this area.

Amazing place!

Beautiful property, great location. I also loved that it had Netflix which all the hotels I have stayed at in the past 2 weeks didn’t have, sounds silly but watching Italian TV gets old fast. The host was very communicative and recommended great restaurants. I would recommend to call ahead to reserve a parking spot at the parking garage that he recommends- it’s $80 euro a day but worth it to know you have a spot and your car is safe. Also, if you don’t have the spot reserved the Police of Portofino may not let you in if parking is full- we had to let them know we had a reserved parking spot and they let us in. I think they limit the amount of cars that enter Portofino. From the garage it’s not too far just a bit of a steep incline up. You’re extremely close to the main area of Portofino. Would highly recommend this place, it’s a luxurious rental and is very cozy. I felt very comfortable sleeping there and I am very picky when it comes to where I stay!

Die Ausstattung war sehr gut vor allem in der Küche

Die Parkplatz Situation ist sehr schwierig da es nur ein Parkhaus gibt und man da 8€ pro Stunde zahlen muss. Außerdem ist die Wohnung im März leider sehr kalt und feucht da nur eine kleine Heizung im Bad vorhanden ist und keine Sonne hinein scheint. Durch das feuchte in der Wohnung gibt es auch Schimmel hinter den Nachttischen. Außerdem waren die Bettdecken nicht bezogen und hatten teilweise große gelbe Flecken.

alloggio bello in posizione quasi centrale solo un po' faticoso per arrivarci, era in salita, in questa stagione non vede il sole. dotato di tutti i confort, lavatrice lavastoviglie , forno a micro onde cantinetta ecc

l'alloggio puzzava di chiuso di fatti si riscontrava anche sui mobili ecc,mobili alcuni sfondati, porte difficili da chiudere una rotta. sali scendi doccia quasi rotto e doccino non adatto ad esso, armadi pieni di cuscini e oggetti di ogni tipo, per riporre vestiti ed altro ho dovuto spostare tutto. in fine vari problemi in generale che non sto qui ad elencare, peccato perché come alloggio è anche carino peccato

ATTENTION : un appartement d'apparence coquet..

En tant que client fidèle de booking et ce, depuis près de 10 ans, nous avons à ce jour déposé 1 seul avis mais là c'est trop ! Nous n'avons surtout pas l'intention de faire de la délation malsaine mais en 3 mots : A fuir impérativement !! Nous sommes accusés à tord et dès notre départ d'avoir cassé une fenêtre ou volet d'après booking que j'ai contacté par la suite puisque le propriétaire nous a reclamé 400 € avec menace à la clé d'aller à la police ! Vous comprendrez ma déception... et saurez également que pour le montant demandé (426 euros la nuit), la prestation n'était malheureusement pas à la hauteur : sols et terrasse sales et qui plus est, une serviette de toilette tachée et literie du salon très dure. A bon entendeur !

Per due persone : 1 solo mini bagnoschiuma per due notti 1 solo set di asciugamani a testa (in inverno ci sta ma in estate con mare e diverse docce al giorno , Anche no !) Due cialde Nespresso per due persone per due notti ! Caffè in polvere praticamente finito e per una sola persona ! Due rotoli di carta igienica ! Uno già usato!!! Troppo caro Senza parcheggio Armadio con dentro un lettino per bebè quindi impossibile per appendere vestiti da uomo o donna. Una delle due abat-jour in cara da letto non funzionante. Televisione con canali da sintonizzare (non abbiamo potuto vedere TV per 2 botte e tre giorni ). Arrivare nell’alloggio con valigie e sotto il sole e’ un impresa ! Nessuna flessibilità in un early check-in chiesto quasi in ginocchio per motivi lavorativi . Salita ripida e nessuno ad aiutarti. Tutto vero dimostrato dalle foto

Bei dir die auf den Fotos grundsätzlich sehr schön aber ohne Parkmöglichkeit 200 m steil bergauf gelegen

Wohnung sehr schön und sauber

Die Tatsache, dass man erst vor Ort merkt dass man ANDERS als angegeben NICHT Parken kann sondern min 250 Meter BERGAUF gehen muss. Das war für uns bei Regen, mit Gepäck und Herzproblemen ganz negativ. Wir konnten das Quartier nicht wie vorgesehen nutzen, da es eben nicht möglich war schnell zwischendurch ins Quartier zu gehen. es ist nicht in Ordnung dass nicht anzugeben wir hätten sonst ein anderes Quartier gewählt. Und haben uns hier hinein gelegt gefühlt
