My mother and I stayed here and we loved the location and the history of the rental! Giovanni, our host provided us with excellent recommendations and information about the Cinque Terre towns. We would love to stay here again when we come back!
If you stay at the rental and need perfect Wi-Fi, then you may need to stay at another place. The Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, but we didn’t mind because we were rarely in the room and did not rely on the Wi-Fi connection.

Small touches like candies and details in the room, extra blankets, pillows, tea and kettle are plus points.

Location was excellent and host was very welcoming.
The fridge didn’t get drinks cold and the balcony does not have any privacy from surrounding properties.

Great location, the room was perfect for a solo traveller. Giovanni was very helpful and thorough. The AC worked very well :) The room was small (which I knew when booking), but the layout of the furniture worked well in the space
The sheets and towels were washed with a strong smelling detergent, which I am sensitive to. But they were clean!

The room had everything we needed and was super clean. Giovanni was very kind in telling us about the history of the room we booked and also had water and beer for us the fridge when we arrived. That was greatly appreciated!

Giovanna was a great host and told us the history of the property and made great recommendations for the area. The room was very clean and quiet. Nice patio area to sit out on in the evenings. Good air conditioning. Great location and excellent facilities. We really loved our stay here! Thank you!
Not a big deal but the bed was two single mattresses put together so it wasn’t as comfortable as a double bed.

The single room was perfect as a solo traveller, has everything you need. I also felt very safe and Giovanni was a great host and took time to explain everything even small details about the room. Great location, great value and would highly recommend staying in the town as it’s quiet in the mornings and evenings

Fantastic location and great value for money. The room was small but worked well for one person. I would highly recommend.
The room is on the fourth floor and the key was difficult to open the door.

The care taken by Giovanni is obvious in every aspect of this space. We stayed in one of the little rooms and got told of the history of winemaking and about the town. He gave us recommendations of where to eat and what we can do here. It's tastefully decorated, cozy and romantic for a short stay in Manarola. The shower is lovely, the amenities were fantastic and overall the space was very clean. We loved being here and wished we could've stayed longer!
The only thing is there wasn't a view as much from our room, but we knew that prior to booking. We had a view of the mountain but the space has everything you need for a comfortable happy stay!

The host was really friendly and welcoming, helped carry our luggage, and shared useful information for our trip. He was also very responsive to our messages. Complimentary water and beer was provided. There was also a kettle and many flavours of tea provided. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well-lit and comfortably sized, with a large shower (and very pretty tiles). The small terrace was convenient to dry our towels and to let light and air into the room. The wifi was good. Location was perfect - not a lot of stairs, just off the main road, quiet at night.
The fridge is not cooling enough

Giovanni was so welcoming. He was so responsive with my questions. He gave me clear instructions when I checked in and he even offerred to carry some of my things bc there was no lift. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. The location is great and great value for money. I highly recommend.

Clean, beautifully decorated and peaceful .
Lower bars on the patio would have felt less closed in.

The bed was very small (I know I booked a single room)

Pleasantly surprised by the easy accessibility of this apartment, location in the town, proximity to the two trails in either direction of Manarola and best of all, discovering that Manarola is the best town for us. Handwashing was made easy thanks to the small tub and clothes pins offered. Didn’t need A/C because evenings were cool. Appreciated the towel warmers to dry towels and the handwashed clothes. Shower had excellent pressure and bed was comfortable. Though the space is small, the space is cleverly outfitted and carefully curated for a good short term tourist. There are not cooking facilities but just outside the apartment, there are cafes, small groceries and many, many restaurants.
Tip: Try the Foccaccia restaurant on the hill near the public parking lot. It offers a wide array of Foccaccia which we enjoyed, even more than the far more expensive dinner at dal Billy’s.
Tip: The 2 free trails that connect from Manarola, 531 and 506 are quite steep and may require the use of your hands if one is petite in height. Wish I had my tacky fingered (breathable) gardening gloves to use for rock handholds when the steps were higher than 14” and a bit slippery. I did use my hands but ruined my nails. (Laugh)
Tip: Don’t ride the ferry if the sea is turbulent. Our ride in the morning was so severely bouncy that there were people almost ill, especially near the rear of the boat where the exhaust fumes are pretty smelly.
Tip: Bring a reusable water bottle to refill in the towns of the 5 Terre. The water is quite good.
Tip: GALIN in Monterosso was the best meal we had in all of the 5 Terre.
We stayed in Apartment #1. I liked everything but didn’t use the balcony to sit and enjoy coffee because it is connected to 2 other balconies (1 large one belongs to a hotel and the smaller one is the other apartment of the Bordone). Giovanni supplies covers to put over the railings for privacy but it was too exposed to strangers for me, personally. I don’t really want to listen to others’ conversations… but the good news is, I didn’t really need the balcony as the room was quiet and private and comfortable enough for me. I used the balcony for hanging laundry!

This stay really was the perfect home from home. It’s located on the edge of one of Manarola’s gorgeous little streets which I loved because you feel the charm of the beautiful side streets but didn’t feel uncomfortable getting home at night.
The room was spotless with a magnificent view, every morning started for me with a coffee soaking in the view. The room was basic but stylish and thoughtfully put together. Everything you need is there and the host, Giovaanni, was so kind and attentive. This was my first solo trip and the room and his attention to detail put me at ease immediately. Manarola itself, in my opinion, is the best town to stay in. It is not as quite as busy as Montorosso and Vernazza but absolutely beautiful. When I return to Cinque Terre, I will definitely be staying again!
This was not a problem for me as I loved the walks, but the location is a few minutes uphill from the marina.

Very tastefully decorated room and bathroom. It has a very comfortable bed and one of the best showers I've ever had. Everything was spotless, and the host, Giovanni, was really helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
Nothing not to like!

The location is away from hustle and bustle, no stairs until you get to building, so that saves you some energy. The room is small but cozy and has all the amenities similar to a hotel room. The host was so lovely, I had the luck of travelling on a train strike day and I was quite delayed but the host was very understanding.
Nothing much as I knew that the room is small from the pictures.

No breakfast, but there is a cafe nearby. I liked that the room was small but comfy, and the owner prepared everything for the stay, including a mini-fridge and refreshments.
Nothing.

The owner was exceptional, he explained the surroundings and the facilities with pride. He even left us some goodies for our stay. The room is small, yet newly renovated and comfortable. Quiet surroundings, enjoyed the balcony.

We really liked Manarola, it was the best of the 5 villages. The place itself was really nice too, very clean, very comfortable and obviously recently renovated. Everything was as advertised and Giovanni was very helpful and quick to respond.
The only note I would make is that the picture of the balcony is taken from a long angle so it's a little misleading. In fact there is a terrace right in front so not great for privacy. Having said that during our stay no one was there, and Giovanni had provided covers if we needed to have some privacy, which we ended up not using.

I stayed in the Solo room with a single bed as I am a solo traveler. The room was very nice and had everything I needed. I especially liked the window that opened and looked onto the street and some restaurants. Giovanni was a great host and helped me with my bags to carry them up the stairs.

The host was extremely responsive, prompt in addressing any requests of ours, thoughtful and helpful in giving recommendations about Manarola. The apartment was clean, spacious, well-lit and central and had lots of great little touches.

We had a great weekend here. It started with a warm welcome from Giovanni and his useful tips- the best restaurants and moving around the towns. We stayed in a double room on the ground floor and it’s one of the few accommodations that we’d love to come back to and stay again. Nice touches on the decor- hints of history with modern comforts plus Giovanni’s thoughtfulness and attention to details.
The stunning coastline, beautiful villages, charming alleys, lovely people and delicious food made us dream of coming back soon before we even left!
Best regards,
Ruth D. Nolasco

Everything was just perfect - the location, room, facilities, view, shower, bed. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. The host really was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to make it a great trip. Thank you so much for everything. I’ll be back! :)
Nothing bad to say

This double room was great! it was perfectly located in Manarola and it was so clean and well decorated. The outdoor patio was a huge plus! Giovanni was great - super helpful with our luggage and checking us in, and took the time to share some tips on what to do in town and what restaurants to visit, and all his food recommendations that we were able to try were delicious! We really appreciated him taking the time to welcome us to Manarola!
Our stay at Il Bordone was a 9.5/10. The only thing we found slightly less than perfect were the mattress pad, which I think was plastic/to protect the mattress, but it made it loud when moving around while sleeping and we did have trouble staying asleep the first night.

Beautiful room. Steep walk to property and you have to take your luggage up yourself. It would be good to offer a service (happy to pay) for luggage collection at the day of booking. After meeting our host at the top of the town at the church at Manarola, he offered to carry the suitcase down to our room which was very nice of him.
Could there be some room insect spray provided as there were some mozzies at night time. We did ask for some but were advised to buy our own. This wasn't suitable as we still had 3 weeks to travel.

Room was cozy but had everything you need, including electric kettle and some food and drink (perfect for breakfast), toiletries and towels. Room is quiet in the evenings as the building is up on the far end inside Manarola so you can get a good rest. Absolutely perfect for solo travellers.
And Giovanni who runs the place was very warm and helpful, giving me many tips on Manarola/Cinque Terre - like restaurant recommendations and trails to hike. Thank you! :)

Very helpful and responsive host. Very small room, but cosy and had utensils to have breakfast or small take-away meal in the room which I thought was great. Nice view to the greens. Very quiet building, I never heard anything from the neighbors.
All good.

Kurzum, man hat eigentlich alles, was man braucht.
