Room was perfect, like a large hotel room with kitchenette. There was an issue with the fridge, but owner fixed it immediately. It was the perfect place to relax and recover. Owner is very sweet and gracious. We enjoyed our stay very much. Be aware, you can see through the outside window into the shower. That maybe uncomfortable for some, but didn’t bother us as there is no one nearby to see.

This was a return visit after many years and everything was as beautiful, restful and amazing as we recalled. Barry and Karen are both wonderful hosts- friendly and responsive as well as very respectful of their guests privacy. We spent eight nights and couldn’t get enough of the incredible views. In fact, other than going for strolls in nearby Russian Gulch State Park and to Fort Bragg for groceries/take out deli lunches and dinners we didn’t venture far from the property. The hideaway is beautifully decorated, spacious, and clean and neat and the kitchen (hidden behind folding doors ) offers everything we needed to prepare/serve our simple meals. It even has the same Port Meirion dishes we have at home. We have already booked it for a return visit next year and can hardly wait. Thank you Barry and Karen

Cozy, rugged, quiet, except for the ocean beating on the rocks, wonderful walking trails and good eats in both nearby towns! we both read a whole novel for the first time in a while - it's that simple and restful. Eagerly plan to return...hosts were great!

Cozy, peaceful, private. The view is simply breathtaking. Being this close to the water was so healing and restorative for me. The hospitality was amazing, too. Every thoughtful detail made me feel welcome and right at home. I felt as if I were staying at the home of a close friend, not a vacation rental. I hope to return soon.

Quiet, secluded, beautiful spot right on the bluffs’ edge overlooking the Pacific. Convenient location close to Mendocino and numerous state parks, hikes,etc.The unit was clean, comfortable with lots of useful amenities. The hosts were very nice and left a note with info on how to easily reach them if we needed anything.This was our second stay here and well worth it.

Do not hesitate to book this property. The views are out of this world. In addition the extra touches they provided with this property are top notch including milk, a bottle of wine, water and a couple of local beers, the yummy cookies they baked for us, the coffee and filters and also loved they had extra pillows. We appreciated the toaster oven which allowed us to make breakfast. We could not have asked for anything more.

This place was quite amazing. Don’t think you can get any closer to the ocean. We were greeted with treats and all the basic amenities. It was even better in person. Very clean and comfortable. We saw lots of birds and the space was very private and easy to find. Highly recommended.

I can’t describe in words the amazing view from this studio. We were mesmerized! The bed was comfortable, there was an abundant supply of towels, pillows, blankets and TP. Even the view from the indoor shower is amazing. The lovely extra touches: a bottle of wine, cookies, box of crackers and meat & cheese were the cherry on top. Such a beautiful home. The location is perfect, a short drive to either Mendocino or Fort Bragg. Everything has been thought of for a relaxing get away. This was the prettiest place we’ve ever stayed. The cottage was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. The views from the patio and picture windows were unbelievable. Beautiful grounds and perfect location. Communication with our hosts was excellent. This place spoils me for any other rental I might ever visit.

When I tried to think of how to describe how we felt after staying here the first word that came to mind was, “grateful.” It’s rare to find places that offer true privacy and majestic, awe-inspiring natural beauty. This space offers both. My partner and I spent hours just watching the waves over the cliff outside because every hour gives you a new view. We made a point to appreciate the space we were in and notes that the view from the room was better than at most restaurants we visited. The patio was serene and peaceful. We had more than everything we needed, and the small touches (a handwritten note and fresh baked cookies) made us feel like we were home. I’ve never enjoyed a vacation rental more than I enjoyed this one. We loved it so much we are planning on returning. Don’t miss an opportunity to stay here.

Waking up to that beautiful view every morning was absolutely dreamy and listening to the waves as we fell asleep each night was exactly what we were longing for! Hosts were very accommodating when I asked if they had a blender we could borrow to make baby food for my grandchild who was staying elsewhere in Mendocino. We will def return to stay at their comfortable and relaxing place.

The location is right on the Ocean with great close up views, sounds of the water, birds and peace. The room is very spacious and has an enclosed couple of closets, small cooking (no stove) area and both TV and internet. A lot of attention to small things like towels, shower soap/shampoo, and a nice view to the outside from the shower. Owners care and experience show. Very highly recommended. Will return.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay. Great view of the ocean. Near enough to town that we decided to bring back many meals and enjoy them back at the house. We appreciated the snacks/drinks left by the host. Highlights for me personally were the shower with ocean view and the hummingbirds that were constantly outside the main window.

Three nights, four days really weren't enough. This place is perfect, completely private and comfortable. Incredible views, even if you go during "fogust" . All furniture is very comfortable and there is great water pressure. The views though, oh my goodness!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect for our plans during the day (exploring Mendocino & Fort Bragg, wine tasting, hiking, kayaking, etc.) and so peaceful and beautiful to unwind after the day's activities. We joked that we wouldn't get anything done if we live there because we would just sit and look at the ocean views all the time. The night sky was so wonderous to behold and everything was just perfect. Karen, Barry, and Daisy are also wonderful hosts. This location, view, setting, accomodations and ease of access could not be any more perfect. Unimaginably better than the photos in the listing depict. This could become an annual stop for my wife and I every visit to our children on the west coast. The owners make it very easy, all is taken care of, everything you need for a relaxing, quiet, beautiful, serene get away, with a bottle of wine, coffee and home made cookies provided. I hesitate to say anymore lest reservations become even harder to come by.

My wife and I spent our 27th anniversary in Mendocino staying at this property. It is phenomenal. Idyllic is the best word that comes to mind. The location is a couple of miles north of Mendocino - you can be in town in 10 minutes or less. The property is _right_ on the water and incredibly private. Following a tiny walkway from the driveway, you find a worn, thick wooden door. It opens into an outdoor patio and a view of the ocean that is unparalleled. The apartment is floor to ceiling windows on two sides facing the ocean. Three large closets are actually a kitchenette, storage, and your entertainment/TV. The bathroom is large and stocked with high-end toiletries. There are other little surprises that I don’t wait to spoil, but this is easily my wife’s favorite VRBO property we have ever experienced. I am so thankful that the owners felt comfortable sharing their little slice of coastal paradise with others. We will definitely return when we can.
