Beauty takes sacrifice: amazing view but responsiveness needs to be improved

The location can’t be beat and the view you get is amazing.

There was no effort to fix the dripping faucet in the “not-included “ kitchen. It is there, it is dripping and you can’t “not rent” the sound of water dripping on the metal sink. The room was also quite cold and the heating issue was not really resolved until the evening, when another heater was brought, plus a few hours to heat up the room.

Great location and worth every cent.

Location, location, location! This is an amazing property with views over the harbour. You can’t be closer to the centre and are immersed in the comings and goings of the town. The best thing is the evenings and mornings when the day trippers and cruisers are gone, you see a different side of the beauty. Amazing!

Portofino charm, but lacks essentials

The location is absolutely amazing – with a direct view of the harbor, probably one of the best spots in Portofino. The building has beautiful old architecture and a unique charm, although it could use a bit more care and maintenance. It had also air conditioning, which was a plus.

The apartment lacked soundproofing and was quite noisy, especially since there was only a connecting door separating it from the neighboring apartment. The kitchen was not really usable – the stove didn’t work, there weren’t enough utensils, and there was no coffee machine, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the view and location are the highlights, but the apartment could definitely be improved in terms of comfort and amenities.

Horrible rental, horrible property management company Portofino VIP, horrible vacation experience.

Not 1 thing.

If I can give anyone any advice, DO NOT STAY HERE! The apartment has zero Air condition and the city won’t allow them to install a unit. There has never, nor will ever be air condition in the unit. The address listed online is also incorrect. If you are booking a private car service, you will need to contact the property to receive the correct address. During our 5 night stay, we were provided only 2 towels, I trash can with 1 trash bag. The are only two lights that work on ether side of the bed. The entire apartment is full of dust, and has mildew from lack of air flow. The sink in the “ kitchen “ has a constant drip. The refrigerator does not work, and the shower head constantly falls off while trying to shower. The property manager matto that works for Portofino VIP told me that he turned my Goyard bag into the police station that had my passport in it. He did not. He attempted keeping it along with my Louis Vuitton passport covered and multiple pairs of AirPods. The owner is a liar. We ran into him a dinner and he said that air condition was simply broken. We later found out that the city doesn’t allow a unit to be installed. To say that our stay was horrible is an understatement. We couldn’t stay in our room, because of the horrible conditions. We had to stay in a friends tiny hotel on a couch. We asked for a refund and to be moved daily, only to be told we had to go through booking.com. Later to only find out, booking.com contacts Portofino VIP for the refund. They have you going in circles.

Amazing location, poorly maintained

The location was fantastic. Right in the center!

The finish and maintenance quality of the property is not as it seems in the photos. Broken tiles, broken toilet seat. Felt more like a glorified student flat or airbnb than a proper apartment. With a few finishing touches and some new furniture it would be much better.

Stunning stay

It is beyond stunning, view like the one in the movies , the host was very attentive and caring . Everything was spot on. I highly recommend this place to stay as it is very convenient and close by the shops and restaurants and ferry.
