Good value, central and comfortable.

A great central location with lots of amenities close by. The supermarket across the road was very handy. The room was big and comfortable with plenty of space. It was nice to have a table and chairs to eat at, plus a nice touch to have the microwave area outside the rooms if we’d wanted to heat up food. The man in reception was helpful on arrival and our room was cleaned for us even though we only stayed 2 nights. It felt safe and was calm and quiet despite being nice and central.

The balcony looked out onto a pretty grim view of backs of hotels and flat roofs- it wasn’t really worth having the balcony. Parking was a bit tricky at first but we worked out we could park for free on the road after 7.30pm and we did always find a space for this so it only cost a few pounds parking fee.

Terrific hotel in Caen. I recommend it highly!

The hotel is centrally located and it was impressively clean. I gave it top marks in part because of the incredible young desk clerk who worked the evening of August 7, 2025. (I'm sorry that I didn't ask his name.) He could teach a master class on hospitality and customer service. He was patient with my limited French and gave me information in English as needed. He recommended a good restaurant within walking distance. And he had a friendly and kind demeanor that every traveler would appreciate. The hotel room was spacious and very comfortable. It's not "fancy," but it's really quite nice. The bed was good and I slept well. And I really appreciated the fan in the room; the room would have felt too warm for my comfort level without it.

This is not the hotel's fault. I wish I could have enjoyed the breakfast the next morning, but breakfast isn't served until 7:00 a.m. I had to leave around then to walk to the train station for the next part of my journey.

I enjoyed my stay very much! The room was very small, even for a budget hotel, but it didn't really bother me since I was only there to shower and sleep. Room was clean and quiet. It was a little weird that you leave your key at the front desk when you leave the hotel for the day, but the location felt safe.

Great room in excellent condition in a great location.

Good size room for a solo traveller. Room was comfortable and in excellent condition - looked new. All the facilities in the room were excellent - bathroom, TV, lighting. Great location with restaurants and bars only a few minutes walk. There's a tram stops very close by. The manager/ owner was very helpful.

Between you and the hotel you should make it clear when there is no elevator available. Too many stairs, no assistance and your unwillingness to refund is pathetic, There was nothing to like from the moment we stepped in.

The perfect location for a week away. Spotlessly clean, and wonderful hosts.

I'm glad we chose to stay at Hotel Astrid because the team were so welcoming and helpful. We felt safe here. The location was brilliant - easy walking distance to most of the main attractions in Caen as well as bars, restaurants, and the city centre. Great transport links. The rooms and linnen were extremely clean. Beds were comfortable.
