Beautiful location overlooking the sea. One of a group of three cabins, with sea views. Stayed two nights as we were meeting up with friends in Wick. Nice quiet location.

We had the misfortune to be there when Storm Floris struck 4/8/25 but we survived!

Quirky and a cool stopover in Wick

The lodges are really well kitted out, they are clean and have excellent facilities in them. There is loads of parking space too. The shower was amazing, hot and powerful, considering it was in a small lodge. The location is a bit odd, it's on the edge of a housing estate, but from the pod there are views straight down to the sea and we had cows in the field next to us and sheep in the field in front. If the weather is good you can sit out and it's peaceful enough. It's a 10 minute walk to the seafront on a footpath between the fields and a beautiful walk onto the Castle of Old Wick which takes about 50 minutes round trip. The proximity to the Old Pulteney distillery is ideal for their whisky tour which is highly recommended.

The bed is a sofa bed, which is as advertised and is reflected in the reasonable price of the accommodation. But it does squeak, isn't very comfy and is on the small side for a double bed when there are two of you. It was fine for an overnight, if doing the NC500 as we did, but I would have struggled to do anymore than that.

A surprisingly comfortable and well-equipped tiny house with sea views – perfect for a short stop on the NC500.

We stayed in this tiny house for one night during our road trip along the NC500. Check-in was quite late (from 7:00 PM), but we adjusted our itinerary and made a few extra stops along the way. Just something to keep in mind when planning. There are several supermarkets in Wick, which was convenient. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised. The tiny house was very clean, fully equipped, and thoughtfully arranged, with a lovely sea view and parking right next to the door. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable – we had a great night’s sleep. There’s also a small table and two chairs that you can use for breakfast or dinner when the bed is folded away. The kitchen has everything you need: a microwave, fridge, kettle, and even an air fryer (though we didn’t use it). The bathroom is spacious for a tiny house and features a nice, hot shower with a proper sliding door for privacy. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the two outdoor chairs on the little front veranda. The host was quick to respond and very pleasant to communicate with. All in all, excellent value for money – we paid £67 for one night. Highly recommended!

The 7:00 PM check-in time felt quite late – it would already make a big difference if check-in were possible from 6:00 PM.

Not sure it works for the older generation! Such a shame

The view was very good, but unfortunately the neighbours parked right outside the entrance to our lodge, so we couldn’t actually see the view!😔

The sofa was VERY uncomfortable. And it resulted in a restless night, as the second mattress was misshapen from numerous people having sat on the “sofa bed”. Also the bed was very hard to pull out. My husband is 75 & he said that he wouldn’t want to be any older to try & move the bed, as we both found it a real struggle to set up.

Location is beautiful, the sea opposite and woke to a lovely sunrise over the sea. Very peaceful and clean air. Very quiet night. Easy to book in, and could arrive up to midnight. Really lovely environment outside.

It was difficult to get heating going at first, I came late on, it just takes a while. It was warm in the end though.

Farr North lodges No1 and No2

We loved everything about the lodges that when we couldn't find it on booking.Com for the next night we booked directly with the owner .So we have stayed in both No1 and No2 although we didn't use the hot tub which comes with No2 as the weather being so cold -5° and even colder during the night even with the radiator / heater on . Inside there is everything you needed . We did take our own food , drinks and heater . The shops B/M, farm foods ,Argos and pets practice is just on the main road and the whisky distillery is just down the road.

The cold -5°and colder during our stay . It was settled snow several inches thick .it did snow more during the night , So the second night we had brought a small heater for £20 from B/M which we put on as well , Because we bought it we did not leave it as it was not part of the price . We did think it funny with the Tasimo coffee machine as we know how to use one but No1 lodge has the coffee pods and lodge No2 has the milk pods . We had taken our own drinks but it will need sorting .

Increíble noche en medio de la naturaleza con todos los lujos de la ciudad

Tenía absolutamente todo lo necesario y más: Ducha y baño privado, televisión con Netflix, airfryer, microondas, cafetera, té y café, terraza etc. La decoración estaba cuidada al detalle, decorada estilo Highlands, y la ubicación era inmejorable. Muy recomendable perderse paseando cerca del pod! Nos dio mucha pena no haber reservado más noches

El único detalle que faltaba era un secador de pelo :)

Die Lage an sich ist gut.

Die Informationen in der Beschreibung waren meiner Meinung nach irreführend. Es war die Rede von Schlafzimmer, Küche, Wohnzimmer usw. Keines der Fotos zeigte die Unterkunft tatsächlich bzw. im Ganzen. Korrekterweise war es ein Zimmer, das eine winzige Küchenzeile und ein Schlafsofa enthielt. Kein Tisch, keine Stühle. Daneben noch ein kleines Bad. Insgesamt stimmig eingerichtet, aber unmöglich, dort wirklich selbst zu kochen und irgendwie zu essen - außer evtl. auf der kleinen Terrasse (2 Sitzgelegenheiten), aber nur wenn es warm genug ist. Man darf auch nicht denken, das Meer sei direkt vor der Tür.
