Beautiful 1 bedroom holiday home in Lancaster

It's definitely our favourite place to stay when in Lancaster. Set in a lovely quiet location and within easy walking distance of the town centre. The accommodation is luxurious and has everything you need for a short stay. Would highly recommend.

The property is beautifully designed and presented. The location is really peaceful but an easy stroll into the centre of Lancaster.

Everything was great from the hosts who are lovely and very helpful. The walks around the area are great and a beautiful walk into the town. Lots to see and do. Would without a doubt recommend the lodge to stay.

We had a wonderful one week stay at Gardenia Lodge. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, lots of high quality touches including a very welcomed Nespresso coffee machine 😊. All spotlessly clean. We especially loved the huge comfortable bed and the fab shower. It is a shared garden, but with lovely hosts that was never a problem. There is a great seating area just outside the patio door, so relaxing just to sit with a coffee and watch the birds in the lovely garden. The accommodation is set in a beautiful quiet and private area. Two minutes walk from the doorstep is the canal, with lovely walks and plenty to see, wonderful wildlife and canal barges. It is only a short scenic walk along the canal in to Lancaster. Highly recommended, thanks for a great stay!

A lovely little gem of an apartment attached to the owners home in a private road. A short walk to the city along a beautiful canal.

Some may not like close proximity to owners home/shared back garden but no problem for us as didn’t use the garden. Seating at front and side of property too. Very comfy bed and the important parts of the property- kitchen & shower very clean.

Very clean, comfortable and well-equipped accommodation in a mature, parklike private estate (look up 'Haverbreaks') about a mile from the city centre. Very comfortable bed. We didn't try cooking a meal from scratch but all the necessary equipment was there if we needed to.

Nothing! It would have been useful to be able to use the southern (residents') exit from the estate on to the A588.

Location

We loved the place, it was well thought out with quality items especially the bed linen. Very comfortable super king bed. Spacious bathroom and pleasant living room with garden view. Dianne and Gary are friendly welcoming owners.

A bread knife would have been useful and sharp knives need sharpened. Some guests may not like being so very close to the owners.

No complaints the place was modern and spotless.Its about 15 min walk to the town but the walk is lovely along a canal .Would definitely recommend we where down for a show but visited the Castle and had the tour best £9 I've spent in along time.

Location was great just a short ten minute stroll into town along at the canal. Very lean and comfortable accommodation with everything you need.

Home from home luxury comfort in a relaxed environment just a short walk from the city centre. A super apartment with good off road parking.

Excellent location, which was extremely peaceful, and with an easy and pleasant walk (along the canal) into town. The accommodation was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed. Convenient parking too, directly outside the property. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and ready to answer any questions we had about the area.

All was excellent.

Clean, well decorated apartment. Friendly host. Safe parking. 10 minute walk to Lancaster centre with good pubs and Aldi nearby.

Lack of access was a major problem to us. Look at the map: it appears to be on a road out to the South of Lancaster. This road is in fact blocked by a traffic control bollard at the South end, so apart from access to Lancaster central, you have to go through the centre of town (often bad traffic) or go the long way around (mostly single track farm lanes) to get in or out. Coming from the South (as I guess most visitors will), satnav takes you to the bollard! I rang the host, who after a while and some confusion over 'is it open yet? are you sure? we did press the button? is it open yet? we got through but felt like we were in a prison camp for our stay. It's a loooong way round or having to face the centre of the city to get out again! Be aware. If you are aware of the correct route (you could explain this in the directions!) and plan to only visit Lancaster itself then this wouldn't be a major problem. A dishwasher and a shaver socket would be useful. We had to pre-wash two pans which were still dirty. At least include a shaver adapter or you need to charge anything.

The place was a gorgeous country cottage but with new decor and all the mod-cons! The owners were delightful too!!
