Excellent hotel in country town, beds are so comfortable, food excellent quality and staff friendly

Staff service was excellent, food was great quality.

We had a mix up with our valentines dinner. We ordered a starter to share, however the starter and both mains came to the table at the same time, and so the whole flow of the meal was off. Additionally there were no tea bags in the room for a cuppa before going to sleep, just lots of coffee sachets. Otherwise the stay at hotel was excellent. Great quality breakfast. Thanks.

Wonderful Hotel

4 night stay

The room we stayed in was very large family size room. Massive bed and a single bed. Both quite high if you are small. Very comfy though. The ensuite was large with a shower. Hand rails and a seat in the shower for people with mobility problems. The breakfast choice was good for meat eaters or vegetarian.

Only the lack of topping up of shower gel, toilet rolls, clean towels and coffee sachets.

Lovely staff and great gluten free options, though rooms can be warm and a bit noisy with slow servi

I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was very comfortable, and the staff were genuinely lovely and attentive throughout my visit. One of the highlights for me was the food. Being gluten free, I often find it difficult to get good options when travelling, but the hotel really went above and beyond. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the staff made sure I was well looked after. The gluten free curry at dinner was delicious, their carvery gravy is also gluten free, and even the full Irish breakfast can be made gluten free. It made such a difference to feel so well catered for. Overall, a very comfortable and welcoming stay with fantastic food and service.

The hotel has many positives, but there are a few areas that could be improved. The rooms are advertised as soundproof, but unfortunately I could clearly hear people walking in the corridor as well as traffic from outside. The rooms also felt quite warm, and with no fan provided, it was a little uncomfortable at night. When it came to food, while the quality was good, the service was quite slow. Even at breakfast in the morning, it took longer than expected for our order to arrive. That said, the staff themselves were absolutely lovely – very friendly and helpful throughout our stay – but the speed of service could definitely be improved.

The staff was very friendly, the rooms were well kept and really clean.

Room was quite hot, a fan was present to assist with the heat, but it was only blowing hot air around and was quite noisy when trying to sleep. Wasn't a major issue.

I loved the bed and pillows, best bed I’ve slept in. Also loved the toiletries. Location is good, being reasonably close to Dublin. Bedroom was spacious. Very good internet.

Wonderful staff make this hotel

The location and the staff especially Margaret and Stephen. Our cleaner kept our room spotless. We loved the lift as the last time we were there there was no lift.

The heating kept going off and coming from Australia it was a bit of a challenge as we were used to 30 degrees most days and the cool temperatures in Castlepollard it was a bit of a shock
