Excellent value for money

Excellent value for money. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom had clean modern fittings and was very roomy. The shower was spacious and there was also a free standing bath. The room had everything we needed. There was plenty of parking outside of the property and we were greeted by the host Will, who was very accommodating. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and delicious, with quality ingredients. The location was easy to find and very quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

💯 recommend if you are in Longford . Gorgeous property with high end finishes , the most comfortable bed and the tastiest breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Matt is an excellent host with great communication, wonderful choices for breakfast 🍳.

Everything. Fantastic small quiet B&B in the countryside just outside Longford town. Huge room and bathroom decorated exceptionally well. Everything you could want in a B&B. Great breakfast served by the owner Matt. Great price. If you have a designated driver, don't go near the sub standard (compared to here) and far more expensive places to stay in the area.

A happy stay in a beautiful location.

Our room was very comfortable, so clean, with a view over a beautiful walled garden and a magnificent tree. We slept well and woke up to a fantastic breakfast and chat with our host Matt. This is a special place, and though we had a quick stay we'd highly recommend it.

Very little, and if I was being picky, I'd like some mint tea and mugs in the bedroom please. Access to those very comfy looking couches in the breakfast area might be nice too!

My 5-night stay was lovely: the room was very comfortable; the breakfasts were delicious; & the location was very convenient to numerous historical sites. Additionally, Matt was a super host who took the time to identify potential sites to visit, with some that I had not read about in guidebooks.

Everything! The attention to detail, the bathroom to die for, the mattress & duvet, water in the kettle & a message to tell me there was water/milk in the fridge downstairs. Loved that I could see Matt making my breakfast & have a lovely chat too 😀

The accommodation was perfect! Beautiful bed linen and an extremely comfortable bed, everything was just lovely!! We had a very spacious bedroom and the bathroom was wonderful with a beautiful free standing bath, we could not fault it. The property itself has been so beautifully renovated, the decor throughout is stunning in its simplicity and quality .

A Peaceful Countryside Retreat with Charm and Character I had a wonderful stay at Augherea House in Longford. Beautifully set in the peaceful countryside, yet only a short drive from Longford town, the location offered the best of both worlds — rural tranquillity with easy access to local amenities. The house itself is a beautifully renovated coach house, lovingly transformed by our warm and welcoming host, Matt. His attention to detail and genuine passion for the place really shine through. Our room overlooked a picturesque field where sheep playfully competed for attention — their gentle baaing was the only sound I heard, adding to the serene atmosphere. Inside, the room was cosy and tastefully decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable — I slept like a baby. Matt served a delicious breakfast with classical music playing softly in the background, creating a peaceful and elegant start to the day. He also shared fascinating local stories, adding a personal and memorable touch to my stay. If you're looking for a relaxing break in a charming countryside setting with a bit of character and a fantastic host, Augherea House is the place to be.

We had a fantastic stay at Augherea House. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and spacious throughout. Its location is perfect – just a short distance from Longford, making it very convenient while still offering peace and quiet. Our host Matt was welcoming and attentive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The breakfast was excellent, freshly prepared and just what we needed to start the day right. There’s also ample parking, which made things even easier. I would highly recommend Augherea House to anyone visiting the area – a real gem!

This is an exceptional property, original stables which have been beautifully restored. In an ideal setting in the countryside yet close to towns and wonderful amenities on the beautiful river Shannon along with cycle/trails by the canal. The perfect location to switch off and relax.
