About this chalet rental
This is a spacious, modern, and tastefully furnished luxury vacation chalet with approximately 170 square meters of living space, accommodating up to 8 people (4 double bedrooms, large living room with open kitchen; fireplace, sauna, parking, Wi-Fi, satellite TV/Swisscom TV, etc.).
During your summer vacation in Grächen, discover the views of the surrounding 4,000-meter peaks and the many marked hiking trails. Be captivated by the view from the living room of the 4,505-meter-high Weisshorn, Switzerland’s fourth-highest mountain.
Once you arrive at Grächen’s Hannigalp via the unique “fairy-tale” gondola, the ski area opens up in winter with 44 km of groomed runs of varying difficulty levels. With 9 km of easy, 33 km of intermediate, and 2 km of advanced runs, you’ll enjoy varied days of skiing throughout the winter in the sunny Grächen ski area.
Ski buses (PostBus) take you to Zermatt, approximately 20 km away—the stop is about 200 m from the chalet.
The chalet is situated at an elevation of 1,500 m with panoramic views of the Valais Alps in a quiet location on the edge of the forest in Niedergrächen. Neighbors won’t disturb you, not least because of the spacious, natural property (approx. 2,500 sqm). Ample parking is available directly in front of the chalet. The access road has been paved since 2024 and is cleared regularly. However, in snow and ice, snow chains or a four-wheel-drive vehicle should be used as a safety precaution due to the steep incline. Otherwise, two private parking spaces are also available at the start of the access road (approx. 150 m). In 2024, after a 7-year delay due to cantonal bureaucracy, the access road was finally paved.

The chalet consists of:
- First floor and upper floor
- Spacious living/dining room with open kitchen and fireplace (glazed)
- 4 double bedrooms (including 1 with bunk beds)
- 1 bathroom with tub and toilet
- 1 bathroom with shower and toilet
- 1 guest restroom
- Sauna with shower
- South-facing terrace and balcony
- Laundry room with washer and dryer.
- 5 parking spaces, 3 of which are directly in front of the chalet (steep access—snow chains or 4x4 recommended in winter when it snows).
- Free Wi-Fi

Beautiful property, clean warm and cozy in the winter snow! We came from Florida to ski in Grachen and Zermatt and the quaint villages and ski resorts did not disappoint. Also great communication from the owner and property manager. I don’t believe the property is hard to find if you’re from the area, but being from Florida it was quite a challenge finding it when we first arrived. It would have been easier for us to know to go up the road from the Niedergrachen bus stop and take the 2nd long driveway on the left. Hublen is not the name of a street as we had thought. Also, the “hill” was more like a cliff being from a cliff

The house was impeccable with a spacious family room and a well equipped kitchen. Lovely decks to admire the sunsets. So quiet and with gorgeous views. Comfortable beds. The owner, Walter, came to check and make sure we were happy. The property manager was very responsive for any thing. As for the surroundings, they were great with the paths up the mountain to walk to Grachen and branch off to other hiking areas. Truly a perfect stay, we wish we could have staid even more. Thank you so much

This chalet was perfect for our family. The location is remote, but within walking distance of good restaurants and shops. We wanted a place that felt as if we were in the forest, and this chalet did not disappoint. We drank our morning coffee on the porch with an amazing view of the Matterhorn, and one evening a mother deer and her fawn strolled by. There is a stream behind the house that flows into a small pond, and my two girls loved exploring this area. The chalet backs up to a beautiful well-marked hiking trail that leads to Grachen, and we hiked this many times. It's less than a 30 minute drive south to Zermatt and north to Visp. The owner and manager of the chalet were very friendly and accessible. All modern conveniences were present. This is one of my favorite VRBOs ever. I give it my highest recommendation.

Two families had a wonderful time in this spacious, modern house. We were able to separate the families by floor which added another level of luxury, especially with small children. The location of the house is spectacular. While you do need a car (if you are traveling with kids who don’t want to walk 20 mins uphill to town) there are beautiful walks starting right from the house and great views from every room. Many wonderful activities in the area- Grächen is a great place to visit with kids. It is not overly touristy.
