Uns hat der 2-wöchige Urlaub in Kona und in der Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen. Das Apartment bietet viel Platz für 2 Personen, ist sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet! Die Betten sind bequem und wir haben gut geschlafen. Dank der Deckenventilatoren war es immer angenehm kühl und nicht zu heiß! Wir haben die Waschmaschine und den Trockner regelmäßig benutzt, was sehr praktisch ist! Auch am Pool waren wir sehr oft und haben abends öfters mit einer sehr netten Dame geplaudert, die immer dort schwimmt! Die Pool-Katze ist auch sehr zutraulich! Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und der Garten ist wunderschön! Die Lage ist sehr gut, weil man den Strand, viele Shops und Restaurants zu Fuß erreicht! Und es gibt einen kostenlosen Parkplatz! Die Unterkunft ist auch sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man am Ironman teilnehmen möchte! Es sind nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Start!

Leider ist die Einrichtung schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Als ich einen Küchenkasten geöffnet habe, fiel die Tür fast herunter. Die Befestigung war bereits geklebt worden. Einmal hatten wir eine Küchenschabe, die wir aber schnell wieder los geworden sind! Unter der Spüle findet man einen Insektenspray, der sofort wirkt! Die meiste Zeit war es in der Nacht sehr ruhig, nur einmal mussten wir uns von 1 bis 5 Uhr Früh einen Streit der Nachbarn mitanhören! Und einmal hat eine Nachbarin ab 23 Uhr lauthals und komplett falsch Liebeslieder gesungen.

The apartment is very spacious. The kitchen contains everything you need in order to prepare breakfast or diner. The facilities of the property were good, like the swimming pool and barbecue. There were also body boards, flippers, beach chairs, et cetera, which was very convenient. Also the booking advertisement said there is no parking, but you get your own reserved parking place assigned, which was really great. It is a bit far from the appartment with lots of suitcases, so we would recommend driving to the appartment first, quickly unload and park your car in your spot.

The first day we had to get used to the place. It is renovated, but cheaply. A different floor instead of the carpet would help. The bedding was hard, which I normally like, but this was not the best bed. We heard our upstairs neighbors during the night as they had a crying baby very clearly, like it was in our own room.

The pool was good. The unit has beach toys. It was comfortable but only about 3 stars. The air conditioner worked well. The mattress was firm and pillows great. The blockout drapes worked. Adequate linen. There are restaurants nearby in walking distance. The welcome basket is a nice touch.

Kalanakai 112 is not a bad unit, it just isn’t as appealing as the photos on the website and has a few major issues. Contact with the leasing agent (Vacasa)regarding issues was the downer. Things go wrong but how they are dealt with is what’s important. It was good to have Booking. Com to help us out. Our first glance of this condo was a screen door that was open- we realised this was because it wouldn’t close nor lock. On entering the condo it was very dated. The carpet (not the most suitable flooring for a beach condo) was brown speckled in colour and added to the dull appearance. In the photos on the website the unit is bright and airy. In real life this level of light was only achievable with all the electric lights on. Then we explored. The blinds on the balcony would not go up. This meant heat was trapped in and we couldn’t see the lovely garden outside. I had seen this issue referred to in an April review on Booking.com but assumed that in six months that would have been repaired-not the case. The kitchen was lacking in appeal. Cupboards worked but again it was jaded in appearance. We only used a pair of glasses and 2 plates so I can’t comment on functionality. At the end of the bed ( what I think may have been left behind from a prior bed head maybe) were two metal protrusions. They were potential danger were one to brush against the sharp edges. There were minor things, like the back of the bathroom door at the base had chipped wood. Minor as I say, but it does detract from the appearance and to some that may be important. A small booklet in the unit would be helpful to explain the keys in the bowl were for the swimming pool and the garbage depot. If you have a car, the space is at the front of the condo block, but the unit right up towards the back. It’s a walk up the driveway and it’s sloped. Not the units fault, but it does impact. There are a lot of homeless people that congregate around the area.
