Ecclerigg Old Farm

The property is located on the mainroad and is in between windermere and ambleside. It was a good Base for visiting the lakes. The house itself is clean and we have all thats we really needed. The bed is comfy and clean.

Communication with Sykes is bad. Link doesnt work and they dont reply to emails.

Outside seating needs to be for 8.Large stain and damp patches in the bedrooms.A funny fishy smell on the landing.Could not get hot water in the shower over the bath

We had a fantastic stay at Ecclerigg House and would happily return. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a real home from home. The house is incredibly spacious, with lovely bedrooms, a beautiful garden and everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent – perfectly placed for exploring the Lake District, with both Lake Windermere and Ambleside just a short distance away. It made an ideal base for our holiday. The neighbours were also lovely and friendly, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, we had a great holiday at Ecclerigg House and will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Whilst it wasn’t an issue for us, some of the furnishings are a little dated and, although the carpets were clean, there were a few stains visible. However, this certainly didn’t detract from the wonderful stay we had. The comfort, space and fantastic location more than made up for it. Limited parking, we were a group that travelled separately, the neighbour was lovely and allowed us to park on his part, we plan to book next year so will car share.

One shower for 8 guests. The shower didn’t drain properly. Definitely not enough for 8 hikers. En suite facilities had no shower, with a mixer tap that didn’t work
