The cottage is named after one of the town's best-loved landmarks, the picturesque Bridge House, just a stone's throw away (100 metres). From here, admire pretty views along the banks of the River Rothay, wander up to Stock Ghyll Force (1 mile) on the outskirts of town, or continue to Wansfell Pike (2 miles) for elevated views. Within the town itself, you'll find an independent cinema, an indoor climbing wall, an abundance of shops and pubs, and plenty of activity centres offering equipment hire and guided experiences, including water sports on the mighty Lake Windermere (1 mile). The lake is perfect for sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding or wild swimming, as well as leisurely wildlife-spotting walks along its spectacular shoreline.


High ceilings, bright interiors and generous windows that flood the rooms with natural light make this three-storey property a delightful place to stay. Step into the open-plan living area, where the lounge and kitchen/diner combine to create a welcoming social space. An exposed stone fireplace lends a traditional feel, complete with a working wood burner that casts a warming glow on cooler evenings. A TV/DVD player sits opposite comfortable seating for relaxed nights in, while a bookcase stocked with board games offers additional entertainment. Just off the kitchen, a versatile boot room provides extra storage, laundry facilities and a convenient WC – ideal after a long and rewarding hike. Head up to the first floor, where two restful bedrooms promise peaceful nights. One is a king-size and the other is a double, and both benefit from en-suite shower rooms for added privacy. On the second floor, two further twin bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements, ideal for younger guests. A family bathroom on this level completes the accommodation.


Due to its central location, the property does not have a garden or patio. However, Cumbria's beautiful countryside begins right on your doorstep, and a parking permit for two cars is provided for local car parks, making it easy to explore further afield.
