Not value for money with upkeep of cottage, property management communication poor!

Good central location

For the price paid, we had issues. On the kitchen, there was a torn table cloth. A light switch without cover making it unsafe, in the hallway, repaired plaster that hadn’t been painted, a blind in the bedroom that wouldn’t work. In the bathroom we had a dripping tap and then had a leak through the ceiling from the bathroom into the electrics

We had a brilliant stay at Fell Cottage which was a home from home during our stay in Ambleside.

Excellent location. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms.

Towels were worn / grubby and small. Blind didn’t open in one of the bedrooms Couldn’t find instructions for using everyday equipment (eg washing machine, heating, dishwasher, shower hose. Had to buy additional bin bags and toilet rolls as couldn’t find any.spares. This didn’t detract from our stay - we had a great time, just maybe helpful for future guests.

Great stay!

The location was brilliant, there is parking on the street outside but sometimes it's full, luckily a pass is provided to use the local car parks which worked great for us. Good location for walks and close to plenty of shops. The accommodation was decorated nicely and very clean. The hosts also left a few essentials and a bottle of champagne which was greatly appreciated.

Great place but poor parking and communication.

Great location and space. It was clean and comfortable.

No hairdryer or shampoo/conditioner. The property management was not responsive through the booking.com app. Bad communication. Parking was confusing.

Great stay!!

The property was in a fantastic location, plenty of good walks to do on your doorstep! There was a bus stop at the top of the street and the buses were always on time so there was no need to use our car. Parking can be tricky as there is limited space to park, but you are given a permit. We were lucky to park right outside the cottage and we basically didn't need to use the car again until we left. Cottage was clean, couldn't fault it at all, apart from the oven which could of done with a good clean. Would definitely stay again!

One of the bedrooms had blinds up but let alot of light in as there were gaps at the sides and in the middle. Sun was shining on my face in the morning.

Bad start to a week's holiday

Location

When we arrived, the cottage was cold. The beds were unmade and there was a water leak in the kitchen. We complained and was told the boiler was broken. Since it was too cold we had to move. So we got a list of available cottages to choose from. I'm only too happy to do so. But it had cost us many wasted hours waiting for Sykes Cottage to organise everything. And not to mention the hassle of moving with our mountain of luggage (we had family visiting from the Far East).

Wonderful little cottage. Superb location - just 50 yards from some of the restaurants, pubs, sandwich shops, bakeries, etc in Ambleside, couldn’t get any closer! Lovely big bathroom with bath & shower to soak away and the aches and pains after full days on the Fells. Well equipped kitchen (I think 😀), as not used much as we are out all the time! Lovely comfy beds too - had the best nights sleep after all that fresh air.

Not much at all to not like. Property provided a business parking permit, and parking was a bit of a lottery - we managed to get the last space on each of our two days.

Great base for walking in the Lakes.

Location. Suited our group well with great bathroom and additional shower room. Good laundry with overnight drying facility in ‘boot room’ for our wet weather walking!

Cozy Cottage

It’s quaint, well equipped, perfect location, and the bathrooms are beautiful.

The living room was cold. It would have been nice to be able to use the wood burner furnace.

Excellent location and facilities! Really enjoyable!

It is a newly refurbished cottage with very good taste. It was very clean and perfect for our needs, with enough space and facilities (eg 2 bathrooms) and a fast WIFI. Although in the very centre of Ambleside, the street is very quiet. The hosts left biscuits and a bottle of wine for us, very welcoming. Thanks! I will try to stay again at the next visit and definitely recommend it to others.

I had a bit of a problem with accessing the code for the key box, but nothing serious. I rang he number on the website and they provided the information to me. It would be useful to be provided with some shower gel next time! Thanks.

Fell cottage was clean and spacious and located in an excellent position close to all amenities.

We were self catering but shops easy to access and in a prime location.

We had a parking pass for one vehicle outside the property but other guests from neighbouring cottages kept occupying the space. We parked nearby in the carpark.

I'm still speechless, the place is gorgeous, we absolutely loved it. The location is right in the heart of town, there's a Tesco Express a couple of minutes walk from the place, plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, there's a bus stop just around the corner, beautiful parks, we had a perfect vacation. The cottage was spotless, soft towels, small living room but the kitchen was very spacious.

No basic amenities such as cooking oil, only 1 garbage bag was provided and not enough toilet paper for 6 people for 3 nights.

Dejlig ophold i skønne omgivelser

Beliggenheden er helt perfekt lige i centrum men alligevel på en stille vej. Huset var rent og pænt og billederne svarer helt til virkeligheden. Vi vil helt sikkert booke igen hvis vi er i området.

Stuen var fin til 4 personer men vil nok føles lidt lille til 6 personer. Parkering på vejen kan være lidt af en udfordring og et par gange måtte vi parkere på andre veje i området.
