Excellent with a few minor tweaks

Everything. Small boutique hotel with personal service and excellent location

Internet wasn’t very fast. Breakfast staff seemed a little overwhelmed and we often had to ask twice for things (such as a cappuccino)

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in a great location

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location! Staff were friendly and the room was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Had the best cocktail - Gin and Matcha! I think it's called La Gemma Cocktail! Overall a wonderful time spent at La Gemma.

Very nice family owned hotel which makes you feel that you are at home. Staff are super friendly especially Eduardo who is a member of the family. Very clean, very comfortable. Location is the best especially for the first time travelers to Florence .

Outstanding Hotel nested in the ultra center of Firenze

Outstanding location and service. Attentive and professional staff. Excellent breakfast — genuinely worth it. Beautiful bathroom. Spotless premises throughout. Efficient and well-run valet service.

Given that this is a 5-star hotel, I was disappointed by the following points: – No coffee machine in the room (Deluxe Double Room). – Very few electrical outlets. – The bar on the first floor is small. – If you arrive by car, you must enter the street in reverse. This was not communicated despite my asking about parking prior to our stay.

Way too expensive and very pretentious

It was pretty and in a good location for seeing Florence

It was all cosmetic - everything about it was pretentious and fake. We were placed in a room right next to the elevator, something I specifically requested not to happen. The furniture was so bad a glass slipped off the bedside table and broke. We were moved to another room, which was small and uncomfortable. The staff were aloof and unhelpful.

Amazing hotel, highly recommended!

This is a family-owned boutique hotel where you can truly feel the attention to detail in every corner. The level of service provided by the entire staff is exceptionally high. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had, served at the hotel's 1-star Michelin restaurant, Luca’s. The location is perfect: right in the heart of everything and very central, yet surprisingly quiet and peaceful. An absolute gem!

Great location in Florence, but note this is a boutique hotel so limted faciltes

Location was excellent and the property very clean

No kettle and tea bags provided. Very important for British guests as we are not all coffee lovers. No english speaking news such as Sky, CNN and BBC World. Should be standard in a 5 star hotel

The hotel is just beautiful painted throughout in a seductively beautiful green colour. Very upscale in style. The staff were more than attentive and celebrated my grandson, as it was his 21st birthday while he was there, only because they noticed on his passport. I would recommend this lovely boutique hotel to anyone.

Our experience at La Gemma was absolutely delightful. The hotel is charming and well-kept, but what truly made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and a special thank you to Daniel at reception – his kindness, professionalism, and helpful advice made us feel genuinely cared for. We would happily return.

Everything!! The location is amazing, but it’s all about the hotel. It’s luxurious with an old school, glamorous, cool vibe. The staff are exceptional, even before our stay the communication and advice was impeccable. I was offered ‘dining with the stars’ private dining on the roof terrace for my fiancés birthday. The tasting menu was outstanding, as we sipped champagne overlooking Florence and enjoying the sunset. An all around magnificent evening, special memories made…thank you!! The staff made it wonderful, Vito, Fillippo, Daniel and Florin…thank you xxx

Amazing breakfast! Fantastic staff! The room was large and tastefully decorated. Very clean and comfortable!

The location is fantastic but that meant there was significant noise outside our room at all hours. For the most part, we were not disturbed but there were times we wished we could leave the window open and the crowd or cleaning trucks outside were very loud.

A dreamy Florence hotel

Florence was the first stop on our honeymoon and our stay at La Gemma could not have been more perfect. It’s an absolutely stunning hotel in an incredibly central part of the city that made getting around so easy. The ambiance of the hotel was so relaxing and the team was so welcoming, and our room was supremely comfortable. It’s one of my favorite places we’ve ever stayed and will definitely be back!! Also – I highly recommend booking a massage at the spa there, it was divine!

Wow- this hotel truly lives up to its name- it’s an absolute gem!! The suite was spacious and nicely appointed very comfortable bed with nice bedding. Absolutely gorgeous decor. The restaurant was wonderful- I did the tasting menu and it was all amazing. My suite was huge. Plenty of counter space, plenty of space for the luggage. The staff was so friendly and attentive too!

Honestly, my stay was really a treat. The only thing that didn’t work properly was the streaming from my phone to the TV. I’m sure that will be resolved easily.

Hotel La Gemma is incredible!

Hotel La Gemma is truly a gem in the heart of Florence. The boutique hotel has all the amenities of a well-seasoned luxury hotel but their attention to their guests feels like the hotel exists for just you. It’s gorgeous, luxurious and peaceful. Their playful interior design is absolutely lovely and I appreciated their clever choice in using colors that honor their incredible cathedral, duomo, belltower, baptistery. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect and their genuine care for guests to enjoy their stay is noticed. We enjoyed having drinks every evening at their bar where the bartender is very skilled and personable. The rooms are comfortable, peaceful and roomy. Their beds/bedding are excellent and their AC was such a respite from the hot summer weather. And the location is perfect. Tucked away off a main tourist arterial allowed for a feeling of privacy and calmness. Hotel La Gemma will be our choice in hotels whenever we visit Florence.

No iron available at all, the key card used for electricity was temperamental meaning the lights could go off any time and some of the plug sockets didn’t work.
