El Guelfo is a great place to base for exploring Florence.

El Guelfo is located in a great location for exploring Florence. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the Academia Gallery, 10 minutes to the Duomo and there's endless restaurants and shops within a few minutes. The airport tram also stops within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My mom and aunt had an early flight out and they helped them secure a taxi and even packed a to-go breakfast box. The hotel just has a cool vibe and Florence feel. The breakfast buffet was great....lots of variety with fresh fruits and juices plus pastries, etc.

The bathroom tile could have used a bit of a scrub as there was some mildew in the grout.

A well-located hotel with friendly staff, but housekeeping and room amenities need improvement.

The location is excellent and very convenient for walking around the city. The reception staff were helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast was good and well organized. The room was clean upon arrival, and overall check-in was smooth.

The room was very basic, and the window faced a shared inner courtyard surrounded by rooms on three sides, which limited privacy and natural light. There was no tea or coffee maker in the room. Housekeeping was inconsistent: on one day a damp used towel was left on my clothes, and on another day used toiletries were replaced but not removed, and the shower was not properly cleaned. There are also no USB ports for charging devices, so a power adapter is necessary.

The access to and from the airport is extremely convenient, and you can do everything on foot. Getting to the main attractions in town is super easy. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around, which is really nice.

• No facial tissue provided in the room • Air conditioning was not working (fortunately it was winter) • Tea and coffee are not provided in the room and need to be requested • Small lift, so moving luggage up and down can take time

Perfect Florence stay!

Location + Ambiance: perfect! Breakfast was beyond amazing! Buffalo cheese, pizza pockets were bonuses non typical, but exceptional scrambled eggs, self serve coffee machine, yogurt, cheeses/local meats, fresh pressed juices, fresh fruits, croissants and so much more. Candies through the hotel, historical art and paintings, vaulted hotel rooms, comfortable beds, tub + bath, complimentary champagne for happy hour every day, staff called taxi for us, provided umbrellas for any rain if needed. 10/10! My fav Florence stay from now on!

A beautiful stay in an interesting Florence neighborhood

Our room was comfortable and appealin in, with a nice preservation of historical details along with more practical updates. I loved the window that looked out on a little yard between the buildings. Staff were helpful and often quite knowledgeable about the city, (Clemente!)

Nothing in particular, breakfast and front desk were good. I might have liked a small outdoor area with seating to sit and enjoy a beverage.

Very good hotel, perfect location

Il Guelfo Bianco is a very pleasant and comfortable hotel, conveniently located within easy walk from many of Firenze's major attractions (the duomo is a 5-minute walk away). Service is attentive and friendly, both at the reception and at breakfast, which, by the way, is ample, varied and nicely presented. Free prosecco, coffee, tea, biscuits and fruit at all hours were a very nice touch of generosity. One of the receptionists (apologies for not remembering the name) recommended a restaurant around the corner (Accademia) that was so good and affordable that we ended up dining there three evenings in a row. My friends stayed in a spacious double room, whereas I settled for a single, which was smaller of course, but still very reasonable (with a full size bathroom). A good, solid choice for exploring central Firenze.

According to Booing.com, both our rooms were supposed to have balconies. Neither had. I mentioned this at the reception, and they apologized profusely, explaining that only some of the rooms had balconies, and room allocation was done automatically by some sort of outsourced agency. This was far from tragic, but did disappoint us a little.

IL Guelfo Bianco is historic, charming and welcoming.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The breakfast was also excellent. (We enjoyed exchanging information with Clement.) It’s a delightful and comfortable hotel.

The bathrooms need updating, but keep in mind that the building is 500 years old!!!!

Location, easy to get to train and or Domo. Located on a nice street, bistro and convenience shop near by. Morning breakfast was very nice, in good weather u can use the courtyard.

Perfect stay in the heart of London

Ideal location in the heart of London, easy walk to multiple train stations and very helpful staff, especially Rashan, who helped us expedite our check-in and gave us two great restaurant recommendations. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We would stay here again.

A delightful hotel well located from all the main sights in Florence and about 15-20 minutes walk from the main train st

Excellent location, less than 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. Lots of restaurants and trattorias close by and a small supermarket opposite (to buy water, etc). Super friendly and helpful staff. Our room was small but clean and cleaned every day of our stay. Nice touch that complimentary chilled Prosecco available every evening for all guests. Buffet breakfast provided was pleasant and eaten either indoors or in a lovely little courtyard.

No tea/coffee making facilities provided in our room which I confess was the one negative aspect of our stay

The only things I didn’t like was the bathroom was quite old & shower curtain didn’t hold the water so unfortunately it did spray, and the room tended to get quite hot

Booking (dot) com doesn't tell the truth about this hotel.

The proper itself was perfectly standard for what you would expect as a three-star hotel. The things this spot has going for it are the staff and the location. it was so easy to access Florence without being on top of things, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are just okay, not lacking anything nor being over the top with their amenities or features. Not a place to hang out, but easy as a place to sleep.

The biggest issue is that Booking.Com lied about the amenities provided. The room type I booked was supposed to come with a balcony, but it did not. Had a balcony not been included, I would NOT have booked this hotel as that was key for my stay. The hotel simply does not have many rooms with balconies, so this was a lie. Booking did nothing to rectify the situation and still has not reached out to resolve it. I booked a room type that did not exist, and Booking should never have listed. They take no responsibility for this, it's very dissstisfying.

Very nice stay in a palace

Very good location, very close to main attractions as well as to restaurants for dinner. They had complimentary prosecco on the lobby, as well as candies all over! That was nice. Very good bed and the rooms were comfortable and big. Breakfast was nice and the staff was very helpful and available.

The toiletries in the bathroom were individual and disposable, which is not environmentally friendly.

Great Hotel if You Avoid Room One (and probably two)

Very friendly staff, excellent location. Good breakfast and all day coffee and prosecco was a bonus.

I was put in room one, on ground floor. This was close to tables where people sit and the breakfast area. This meant that from about 6.30/7am there was some noise of people and dishes. Fortunately I had brough ear plugs, so that helped. One afternoon I came back to my room to rest and people were talking loudly at the tables outside. Shame as otherwise room was very nice.

Staff were very welcoming. Room had all the expected facilities, with a special mention for excellent air conditioning during a particularly hot spell of weather. Breakfast was relaxing and offered a sufficient variety of foods. Location was ideal for many of the most-popular tourist attractions.

In an ideal world i would have liked access in the room to more than one plug socket - but that certainly didn't spoil the experience.

Amazing hotel at the heart of Florence. I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was! Very nice decor, Friendly and helpful staff, one of the few hotels I enjoyed breakfast in and the location cannot be better. Bang on in the center, very close to the Duomo. Also very clean rooms and they take care of them very well.

Only thing, if you have any disability, as I had some minor knee issue and had to be careful with stairs, make sure you request a room downstairs. The lift takes you nicely on other floors but there are still small stairs. Not a major thing though. Everything else was perfect.

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful and very clean well kept property. Very charming old-world”Italian building with modern updates and comfort and a tasteful mix of modern art. Very walkable to many of the major sites of Florence. Surprisingly quiet and private. Beautiful breakfast with a satisfying variety and a great cappuccino. All of the hotel staff were so welcoming, kind and helpful. Thank you to all of you, Margarita, Lisa, Angelica and the the tall gentleman in charge of breakfast (forgive me for not knowing his name) as well as the housekeepers. Overall a wonderful and memorable stay.

A really great place to stay.

Great breakfast, great location, great room.

Air conditioning was a bit temperamental. Only 1 out of the 2 coffee machines was in use, and this caused delays due to the number of people using. This was the same when we stayed 2 years ago. Because the breakfast area has many entrances, about 3. People decided to circumnavigate the main entry point and queue jump. One particular morning, we had been queuing by the door for about 10 mins, and another couple came along, didn't wish to queue up and entered via another door and then proceeded to get coffee first. Perhaps it's a cultural thing but it made the breakfast experience a little stressful and unfair.
