Bracken Cottage

Everything, it was a lovely, well fitted out cottage.

Hot tub was difficult to heat up, but I enjoyed the peace whilst lighting it and getting the fire going.

Beautiful decor, excellent amenities, and the welcome hamper & cake was amazing.

We felt extremely uncomfortable and saddened when the owner came round on our second morning to inform us we should have booked the dog in, despite this not being an option on Booking.com. We wouldn’t have minded if they’d asked us about it, rather than assuming we’d purposely not booked her in. Being a dog friendly accommodation, we assumed we’d be okay with her. As a very anxious couple, this unsettled us for the rest of our stay as we felt we couldn’t fully relax as we were in someone else’s property. Also, the hot tub is completely on looked by the owners house, not private at all, so we did our best to be quiet, talking in a whisper and not staying out too late, as to not disturb the owners.
