Casa Catarina

We stayed at the beginning of May and really appreciated the beautiful, remote location – peaceful and surrounded by nature, offering a true sense of escape. The balcony was a highlight, with a distant sea view and an east-facing position that gave us stunning sunrises on clear mornings. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to cook. The main bed was firm but comfortable, and the extra warm brushed cotton/fleece bedding was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated during the colder nights. Not far to drive to access the start of great hikes, and allocated parking at the apartment.

While the location and views were beautiful, there were a few practical aspects that made our stay less comfortable, particularly during cooler weather. The only source of heating was a single air conditioning unit located centrally, which unfortunately wasn’t sufficient to warm the whole space. As a result, the apartment felt damp and cold, especially on wet days when there was also no way to properly dry our clothes. The shower worked fine, though the water pressure was understandably low given the mountain location. The indoor seating was limited to a dining table and wicker chairs in the kitchen area, which wasn’t the most comfortable setup when it wasn’t possible to sit outside. This place might be much better suited for warmer, drier months, but for anyone planning a visit during the cool/wet seasons, it's worth knowing that the heating is quite limited and the house can feel chilly.

La vétusté, pas du tout à la hauteur d'un 5 étoiles compte tenu du prix qui lui, y était ! L'équipement intérieur est à prix minis. Pas de LV, télé ridiculement petite 20', chauffage inefficace et en cette période nous avons eu froid à 700m, salle d'eau à rénover (miroir taché, éclairage au dessus HS, rideau douche et robinetteries années 60. Manque d'éclairage dans le séjour, énormes fauteuils en osier pas confortables et table cuisine ridiculement petite (80cm de diamètre normalement prévue pour 4!), manque de décoration et de prises de courant, etc... Beaucoup de choses à améliorer pour passer de 3 à 5 étoiles !
