Everything was great. The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and had everything I needed. It was quiet. The shower was nice and hot with no water pressure issues. It was also very easy to park near the hotel.
Better individual heating controls instead of one themostat in the hallway. Some form of heating in the bathroom, even a heated towel rail, would have been nice as it was quite freezing in there.

It was self-catering, but the kitchen was spotless and very well-equipped down to the teaspoons. The bus stopped right outside and called at the Italian Chapel, Kirkwall, Stromness and Scara Brae via a beautiful route over the Churchill Causeways. It was just a 15-minute walk to the Gills Bay ferry, but the bus went there too. The post office and convenience shop was just seconds away and open on Sunday. The central heating needed a little thought - the thermostat control was handy on the landing, but you ran the risk of cooking the other visitors if they didn't turn their radiators down!

Bus to Kirkwall stops right outside the property, easiest anywhere in the world :) this will continue through to Stromness and is great to get around with a £10 day rover ticket. Returning the bus stop is just across the street. Handy shop also across street for all grocery items as the property doesn`t have any breakfast / meals but an excellent kitchen / dining area for your own food.
Manager, Shona is very friendly and helpful. The Property is clean and modern with lovely views across the bay.
The only small let down was a lack of a chair in the room, so having to sit or lay on the bed to watch the TV but not the end of the world !

The biggest positive was that the property was 5 mins away from the ferry terminal.
We found a bug in our room and the bed was uncomfortable. Also, the walls are paper thin; even with ear plugs, we were not able to sleep all night due to other guests partying and more if you know what I mean… Furthermore, there was no internet for the TV, nor wi-fi.
