ダース旅館＆カフェ（Dozen-Ryokan＆Cafe）

This stay is so pleasant and quaint! The upstairs is really well-maintained, the vibes are peaceful and quiet, and the coffee area downstairs is nice to relax in! We loved the theme of the hostel and our room was very comfortable.

It’s an old ryokan with a cozy atmosphere. It was clean, the staff were polite and helpful, the coffee is great and the location as well.

Everything ok

It is a fairly charming little place quite close to the train station and main streets, with a built-in cafe/sitting area and refreshing 24-hr cold or hot water accessible to guests, shared bath facitilies and traditional rooms. Our students were able to experience "toilet slippers" and the long layout of a traditional Kyoto house. We made very good use of the built-in coin laundry, though with 11 of us, it took all day to get everything washed and dried.

This is not a traditional ryokan but an old house made over to be like one. There is no onsen, and no really beautiful features. I was startled by the non-sliding room doors that opened like western-style doors and shut with a band. Also the red lanterns outside the rooms were clearly spray-painted inside and a bit tawdry. The south Asian lady who served us breakfast jarred on our nerves with her attitude about "terrible" Japanese curry, and seemed unconcerned that the upstairs recycling was not emptied for days. The cafe was a Godsend since we arrived hungry for breakfast, but the service was slow and the food, though tasty, very expensive.

Close to the train station

Matresscon the floor are not comfortable. Amount which we spent to sleep on the floor is the same as friends spent in the hotel with much more comfort. Noise in ryokan can be heard very easy
