Hotel - Restaurant Eierhals am Ägerisee

Great location, nice breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

Last available room was overlooking parking lot, no aircon, many mosquitoes as soon as windows are open. Second stay at this hotel and both times dinner was disappointing.

What a view - lake, mountains, pretty steepled church in the next village. And wonderful evening meals in the restaurant. And a bus stop right outside the hotel - taking you to a cable car in one direction or towards Zug and Zürich in the other direction. Swimming beach via an underpass under the road. Jetty also opposite the hotel with 3 boats a day which circulate the lake. Some staff happy and helpful.

No air-con so west facing rooms (all of them, as they face the lake) very hot in summer. Road traffic noise (ear plugs provided). Flies (the cow smell might mean the farmer had been muck-spreading behind the house). Plumbing problems: shower temperature, low water pressure in sink, sink emptied very slowly (fixed after mentioning it twice). Some staff on the grumpy side. No kettle in the room. But the views and location make up for all these shortcomings!

Beautiful location, very clean room, and super helpful staff.

Booking.com really blew this reservation. Because of their poor customer service. I will no longer use Booking.com and hope the hotel switches to a more customer friendly booking partner.
