Hotel Le Lumière

We were on the back side of the hotel and it was very quiet, like being in the country. The breakfast had a lot of selections and the food was of good quality. Freshly made scrambled eggs. Several nice cheeses as a highlight. The staff is very helpful and super friendly. The location is good, being around the corner from a busy street. On that street's block, there are 3 groceries, 3 bakeries, and many restaurants. It is full of local shoppers and a fun people watching area. On the next block, there is a self-service laundry which we used. We did not use the parking underneath the hotel and instead used street parking. We never had any trouble finding a spot. It cost about the same per day as the hotel anyway, but we could come and go easier from visiting tourist sites. We never ran out of hot water with showers and the bed was comfortable for sleeping. The room was painted nicely and the carpets were clean. There were single women walking around at night and the neighborhood seems safe.

The hotel was located conveniently for my needs, less than 1 km to the closest metro and 2 km to Part Dieu train station. Grocery stores and coffee shops/bakeries close by, got everything I needed in the morning. The shower stopped working properly after two days which I only noticed when I came back before midnight & only had a change to ask to fix it the next afternoon when I came back from morning affairs. As they were unable to fix the shower, I was quickly arranged another room, thank you for that. The whole staff was lovely the whole time and mostly understood my broken French. Both rooms I stayed at were on the street side and there was some noise btw 6h30 and 7h30 in the morning but otherwise nice and quiet.

Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Perfect for our needs .

Car park entrance is very tight.

The room was clean, and the staff was friendly.

The room was small, but that really wasn't a big deal.
