The photos don’t do this place justice! The views are truly amazing. It’s up the steep hill and away from the main street so we didn’t feel the rush or crowds of tourists at all. We stayed here in September for 4 nights in one of the apartments on the top floor. It was spacious and had its own kitchen, balcony that looked straight at the mountains (a room with a perfect view!), and a washing machine and dryer. We ate dinner at the hotel as the walk up from the main street is a steep 20 minute walk, and we didn’t want to do it in the evening with a young child (buses stop around 5:30-6pm). Breakfast was plentiful too. Our daughter LOVED running around and playing in the field in front of the hotel. We walked down to the main street to catch the train or took the bus to where we wanted to visit. It was all easy and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

The location and the views were excellent. We was there for 4 nights in total over new years !
New Year’s Eve we had dinner in the hotel and it was amazing ! So tasty!
It was ashame that there was no snow because the full bodmi arena wasn’t open but that’s nothing on the hotel! The breakfast was nice, so much variety ! Staff were super friendly ! Loved the little notes in the morning to inform us what was happening each day.
Nothing about the property. Was just ashame the buses end at 6ish to get back to hotel. Because the walk up was a killer haha.

It is located 15min of walking distance from station, the view is absolutely amazing and cable is just next to the hotel. So convenient. They have amazing breakfast and dinner were all excellent. We went to the sauna and steam room as well. We had a great relaxing experience. We also got free bus ticket through the town.

Really wonderful experience here. Everything from the location, to the staff, to the food, and the rooms were all excellent. This was our first stay in Grindelwald so I can’t compare to other places, but we were so happy we stayed here.
The breakfast was the best breakfast experiences we had in Switzerland and our entire Europe experience. The front desk staff was so helpful, the got massages and used the spa, all amazing. Dinner was also wonderful our on the terrace looking over the valley, surrounded by mountains. Just a wonderful experience start to finish.

Location, cleanliness, friendly staff. The apartment was very nicely furbished and very clean. Complementary sauna was great. The view from every corner of the hotel is very nice.
The apartment for 6 people only has one bathroom which can become somewhat uncomfortable, but not a big issue for us overall.

The facilities had a traditional Swiss feel but didn’t feel kitsch. Sauna and massage was exceptional!
View during every meal is unparalleled and I had an Eiger facing room so everywhere I turned was the beauty of Grindewald. The restaurant staff are so kind and accommodating and clearly want to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I will be back!

The hotel team was perfect, very welcoming, friendly and always willing to help !! The location is beautiful, the room is very clean.
The bed is not comfortable and has to be renewed , the bathtub height is too low, located in attic and only a part of it is higher. There is a bus only until 18;45 and walking to the hotel from the train station is quite difficult as includes steep ascent, there is no shuttle service on the arrival/ leaving day.

Excellent hotel in a very good location, offering stunning views of the Alps and plenty of opportunities to take beautiful photos in the yard. The rooms are spacious, with a balcony and desk. Breakfast is exceptional, with many options to choose from. The staff, including the cleaning crew, are very friendly and helpful.
we walk up from the First office and down to Grindelwald Station, but I recommend taking bus 122, which takes only about 10 minutes. We parked our car at the hotel, just be sure to drive up from the correct road. (Do not follow the route suggested by googlemap, but take the road through the village and drive up after the church resp. the Hotel Fiescherblick.)
A unique highlight is that paragliding lands directly on the lawn next to the hotel, which is very convenient.

Friendly staff, clean, beautiful views, good restaurant for dinner and buffet breakfast.
It would be nice if the hotel offered a shuttle after 6:40 pm (last yellow bus) for those who want to stay later in town.
Otherwise expect to pay 30 francs for a one way ride back to hotel.

Their hospitality was amazing. They offered me free laundry for the whole duration as there was no washing machine. It was so nice for a family having kids
The breakfast should have more choices. It would be nice to have Halal options

The location is incredible. The view of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn and Eiger from the terrace is quite beautiful. Bodmi is away from the crowds yet close enough to the village. The building is picture perfect Switzerland and our room was spacious. However it was the staff who made our stay most memorable. From the moment we arrived at reception we were treated with a personal and informative service where nothing was too much trouble, especially by Saskia who also worked in the restaurant. In the evenings we mainly stayed on the property for drinks and dinner, having ventured into Grindelwald and having dined at arguably the best hotel, we decided that Bodmi was our preference. Peter the head waiter and bar man was very attentive, knowledgeable and really made our stay special, introducing us to a Swiss gin and making delicious menu suggestions. He could not have tried harder to make our experience enjoyable. The meals prepared by Gabo the sous chef were delicious both at dinner and breakfast where there was an array of choices. It was a pleasure to meet the staff and we very much hope to return.
The hallways were dark and the bathroom of older design. In our room the shower was over the bath tub and awkward to use.

The location was so beautiful with excellent views of the mountains and valley. It was quiet and even though walking into town was a challenge, it was worthwhile being apart from the city. The rooms with balcony overlooking the mountains was perfect and the room had many shelves, drawers, closets, hangers for a longer stay. Delighted to stay here.
Our main gripe was the limited menu for lunch and dinner. Being isolated left little choice for eating elsewhere when returning from our hikes, etc.

The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking — direct, uninterrupted sights of the Eiger and the surrounding valley, just like a postcard. The location is peaceful and perfectly placed, with a nearby bus stop and a footpath leading to the train station. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with a comfy bed, good pillows (better than most hotels), and all essentials like a coffee machine, kettle, hair dryer, and safe — although no minibar. A nice surprise was the welcome packet of mixed nuts in the room — one of the most delicious we’ve had! Breakfast had a good variety and tasted great, definitely better than some other hotels we stayed at. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was lovely too — we had fondue, and the staff made the experience even better by explaining everything kindly. All staff were super friendly and welcoming, especially Lena at the reception, who made us feel right at home. Also appreciated the lunch packets for early excursions and the clear, easy-to-follow check-in instructions.
There’s really not much to complain about, but we did notice a few small things. A couple of flies were buzzing around the breakfast buffet area, which was a bit annoying. Also, now and then there was a countryside smell — likely from nearby grasslands and manure — though it’s understandable given the rural setting. A minibar in the room would’ve been a nice addition. Lastly, while the pillows were better than in most hotels we stayed at, we personally prefer much firmer ones — but that’s just a matter of preference.

Very nice location with beautiful views. Food in restaurant was amazing. The pizza was top notch. We lost out backpack on train and the chef there helped us to get it bag which was very generous. Staff were attentive. Overall a great stay with majestic views of mountains.

The views for Hotel Bodmi were UNMATCHED. The mountains are basically at your front door. It was a beautifully kept space and the food was delicious as well! We ate dinner and two breakfasts and all were lovely! The staff was very attentive and helpful!
The hallways are dark so it’s a little hard to see to bring our stuff in and out. The beds were comfortable enough but the pillows could have had better support.

My room for family was 228, the view was very nice, face to the Eiger Mountain. Great views.
To get to the hotel, we prefer take the bus, not by foots.

The staff are fabulous. So kind, friendly and helpful despite their long hours. Such an asset to the hotel. The position of the hotel is great. Walking down the path by the hotel brings you out in the village below directly opposite the bus and train stations, wonderful for getting around. The village itself has everything within a couple of hundred metres of the train station. Be aware. The walk down ( and obviously back up) from the village is STEEP. I would not want to be pushing a buggy or a suitcase. The bus stops 100m from the hotel though, and runs very frequently, and is free with a little travel card provided by the hotel. Last bus back is 18.44 from the bus station. The views from the hotel were mostly obscured by cloud when I stayed, but are spectacular, well worth a balcony if you’re there in summer ( an ordinary summer; despite staying in early July it was very cold and wet when I stayed. Literally English February weather. ) the hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, including communal areas, rooms and bathrooms. The food was pretty good in the restaurant. Nice wines.WiFi pretty good, plenty fast enough to watch movies on my iPad. I had my dog with me. It’s a dog friendly hotel. She was the only dog there, smallish and very well behaved. If you don’t like dogs, don’t be put off. If you travel with yours, this is a great option. All the cable cars, trains and buses are dog friendly and we did NOT have to pay for her to travel on them. I think the jungfraujoch top of Europe cable car charges though, but I didn’t use it. I purchased a jungfrau pass, definitely worth it for ease of use, skipping lines etc. Happy travels. Switzerland is gorgeous, and its people very friendly.
The bed was hard. Bathroom dated ( but very clean, lots of hot water, plenty of towels). Similarly, the carpet in the bedroom has seen better days, but is clearly of good quality, and again very clean. The tv sadly has no English language channels, despite teasing with BBC and CNN, there was no reception on the cable, so I assume they don’t subscribe. No smart TV, so no option to log into Netflix. WiFi was pretty good, so I watched films on my iPad. Also, Swiss plugs are not the same as the standard French 2 pin sockets. Not a criticism of an entire nation, obviously, just a general point. None of my electrics could be used as I had French style adaptors with me. There are 2 old style USB ports by the bed side lights, which I used to charge my phone and iPad. If you have the new high speed USB cables, they won’t fit. Might be worth googling adaptors for Swiss sockets, if you’re from the UK, and purchasing a couple before you come. I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was comfortable, safe, great views, fantastic staff, and a couple of minor issues in no way detracted from the experience. I would definitely stay again.

the breakfast buffet consist of different variety and the food is amazing. The restaurant have a very nice view that you can have your breakfast and seeing the cable car to the First! I had to check out early next morning and the staff are very helpful. She helped me to do the check out in advance and reminded me that there is no bus in the early morning due to Saturday. She helped me to call the taxi in advance and also asked the kitchen to prepare a take-away breakfast for me to enjoy! I felt very warm-hearted and thank you so much! I enjoy my stay here and I must come back again if I visit Swiss again

Our stay at Bodmi was sublime. The mountain view was breathtaking and it was a dream to stay at Bodmi as the welcome was top notch especially as it was my Birthday and also Peter in the restaurant really looked after us on both nights we dined at their restaurant. Peter is a star! The food in the evenings was really delicious so thank you to the chef! There is a lot of food for breakfast which is great for fueling up for the day ahead! Great scrambled eggs! This is a charming and traditional place to stay and it was lovely and quiet which is what I was after - I did not want to stay in the main centre as it was so busy there. If you stay here you get a free bus pass so that is a great bonus. The staff are warm and welcoming here - thank you!

Everything was perfect.
The way to the hotel was a little bit hard by a car because the street was narrow and curved. But it deserved it for the great view.

The Hotel Manager Martina was extremely helpful during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for spacious, friendly and scenic view of the mountain and cable car.
The only downfall is the transport as the taxi to this location from the main station they charge 30CHF but you can come by bus Free until 7pm. if you arrive after 7Pm then the option is taxi (if you are with young kids) but sometimes you have to wait for 1 hour. Its not a negative point but families with young kids should plan this well.

Lovely place to be, nice views. Excellent for walkers.
The website promises more than what we found in real (e.g. meals, sauna).
