Nothing, we were grateful to have the experience of staying there.

The owners were very kind and attentive.
The breakfast was well presented and of good quality.
The grounds were in a poor state and without a proper patio/ hard surface, hence no where truly comfortable to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the Loire.
The bedroom suite was typically “ old chateau “ quirky but charming.
Sadly, the bathroom was a disappointment, clean towels each day but the sanitary ware was tired and the decoration was 1950, paint peeling off the roof light was awful. The bath was ancient with shower facilities limited to a hand held spray with nothing to hang it to for support.

This chateau is something special, the history, the location, the hosts and their tour of the building. Very nice dinner and excellent breakfast. The building still needs some renovation, but that should be all the more reason to stay here and contribute

Lovely chateau/ private house on the banks of the Loire. Spacious bedrooms with period decoration and furniture; very comfortable sleeping in the countryside

Located next to river in the countryside. It was lovely to wake up hearing the birds singing.
There was no wash basin in the room with the toilet so you had to walk to the other side of the room to the room with the bath bath your hands

Loved staying in a chateau from the 16th century! Really fun to be a small part of this family’s amazing history in this home.

Accommodating staff. Very clean. Good breakfast. Chateau with intetesting history. Inside charming, furnished with nice antiques and art.
Owner's family moved in with many large trucks during our entire stay with no discount offered. Advertised garden view was false, as it was a dirt parking area with moving trucks. Deferred maintenance of property exterior and grounds.

Fabulous property in a quiet setting overlooking the Loire River. The pictures online do not do it justice. The owner greeted us and made us feel at home. Beautiful public rooms and lots of history. We had dinner in a beautiful dining room while looking at the Loire River, a very special memory. Great breakfast. They had a nice place to park our bikes overnight. It was very special to stay in this historical chateau and we didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying here!

This is a wonderful place. Right on the Loire, down a tree-lined drive, it couldn't be more atmospheric. Maria and Bill are fantastic hosts. The chateau has lots of period charm and original furnishings. Just a superb place to spend a few days.
That we had to leave.

The breakfast was great - we got to sit with other guests and chat, which was nice. The property is literally on the River Loire, which was a lovely surprise. It was really relaxing sitting and listening to the birds and the water.
there were too many mozzies (mosquitoes) and i got badly bitten. there was no air conditioning, so we needed the window open to get cool. apart from that it was lovely.

charming character chateau ( faded elegance) and a lovely couple running it who could not be more helpful. fabulous breakfast .
very dated and quirky facilities. lacking good amenities ( even considering it’s a “guest house” not a hotel . ) the bedroom was at best‘acceptable’. lack of useful information about dining out or what in-house catering facilities were (or were not) available.

Very friendly hosts - could not do enough to help. Being by the river was amazing - o the terrace watching the wildlife. Fab! Thank you Maria and Bill x

A very comfortable stay in a lovely old Château. Very atmospheric. The hosts were just fantastic!! Could not do enough for us. We chose to have table d’hote we really enjoyed our three courses all freshly prepared accompanied with great local wine!
I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
There was nothing I disliked

The breakfast was wonderful! The managers tried to make our stay most wonderful with the utmost caring hearts.
Breakfast was great each morning. The maid service was exceptional.
Thank you all for the greatest honeymoon/anniversary stay!
The backyard needs to be landscaped so guests could sit by the water and enjoy a glass of wine.
The shower head needs to be mounted onto the wall for better bathing...the tub was slippery and needed a bath mat to prevent falling.
It would have been helpful to know that they had drinks available before we arrived. It would have saved us spending time shopping. It needs to be posted.

This historic chateau is about a 7 minute drive from Chambord Castle. Friendly hosts and lovely breakfast of fresh croissants, cheese, yogurt and fruit.
Unfortunately we did not have hot water for a shower in the morning. The hosts were very apologetic and were getting a plumber in to fix the issue.

it is easy to get to with exceptional view of the Loire. because we were there two nights we had a huge room, unfortunately not the one facing the river view, but after our plat du jour we enjoyed the view from the terrace. do order the plat du jour giving the owner one days notice so that she can buy and bake/prepare a lovely plat du jour. on Mondays not many restaurants open nearby and a perfect French evening meal at the château makes a lovely time there. we slept for up to ten hours a night on our first holiday for three years. easy and lovely walks by the river. we had a filling, freshly prepared breakfast/petit dejeuner. I don’t normally post photos but the view in the evening is to be shared.

We have stayed here before and would highly recommend this beautiful small chateau. Direct onto the banks of the Loire river. Breakfast at shared table in the delightful fresco/mural painted ceilinged dining room.
Owned by same family since 1783 and we met the current Marquis and his wife. Being old, it has a faded glamour about the chateau and house is full of original antiques and furniture.
Nothing.
