We arrived late, (midnight) access was via a code ... no on-site staffing... finally after calling intercom and phoning advertised numbers we finally had the door unlocked! Then in poor English was told keys where upstairs near reception desk... 2 sets of keys... first one that worked had a view of the canal... had booked superior canal view king bed room... this room fitted the description. In the morning when staff were onsite informed us that we were using the wrong room and it was a noisier room. As we had unpacked we offered to stay put... Regardless of the access issues, we really enjoyed everything about it... recommend others have received codes and clear instructions even if arriving during the day as another couple were at the front door with same problem when we got back around 4pm...

I'll start this review off by saying, yes this is Europe however I was unimpressed/disappointed with my stay at Palazza Venezia for the price that I payed. For starters I showed up at front and no one answered the door bell, I had to call the person from hotel who sent me check in instructions in order to be buzzed in. I did not see one employee my entire two day stay there aside from what I could discern was the maid. Air didn't work in the room after certain evening hours, mosquitos came into my room as soon as I opened windows, the location of hotel is nice near train station however although it was canal view room I wish it hasn't been. Boats pass by constantly and are very loud with their engines beeping horns at all hours, forget sleeping in. My bed was two twins pushed together and quite uncomfortable in general. No lift for your bags you will be carrying suitcase up the stairs. I could on, in summary it wasn't terrible but for the price I paid I expected a lot more, and all in all I would not stay at this hotel again.

This is not a hotel as advertised on Hotels.com. the property's signage on the building says "guest house". There wasn't anyone on the property to greet their guest and no clear explanation on how the place is ran before or during arrival. There isn't an elevator and no one to help you with luggage if needed. Not handicap accessible. On Hotels.com it was listed as having laundry service/laundry facilities but when I asked one of the employees, she said no there isn't. There wasn't a refrigerator in the room. Positive note: the property is in a good location.

They requested our passport photos ahead of time. I was a little nervous about it, but it worked out. Very comfortable and very Italian style hotel. We enjoyed our stay. The host was very nice, but didn't speak any English, but we figured out what we needed to. :) She was very sweet! :) It is owned by the Best Western. I wish we had more clear directions from the ferries. We just walked to and from the train station.

The view from our room was just perfect. Private view to the canal while its not too noisy at all. Room is clean and decorated in vintage style. Service was great as well. We were greeted and good helps were provided during our check-in.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel. The balcony was incredible and made for wonderful morning and evenings. It was close to the train station and easily walkable to everywhere else we ventured. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again and again!

We loved the receptionist! Although her English was not well, she communicated the best she could with us. We got free candy everyday, everything in your mini fridge is FREE! You get natural water, sparkling water, soda, beer and an entire bottle of champagne. The view from our window was stunning. You could see a little bridge and the canal straight from there. We were within 6-7 mins from the train station and areas to take water taxi and water busses. You could also do gandola rides right outside of our hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!

Pray that nothing goes wrong during your stay here. The aesthetics of the hotel, the views from the rooms, as well as its location, are all a plus. But! We noticed several issues upon entering our room. The heated towel rack in the bathroom was missing an adjustment knob, meaning there was no way to adjust the temperature. The element was stuck on full blast, effectively turning the whole room into a sauna. We opened the windows to alleviate this - but no screens equals mosquitos coming in at night, as well as noise. Not a viable solution, obviously. We asked to switch rooms, but were told none were available. Second issue on our first night: about to go to bed, we pulled the sheets back to discover white, crystallized grains of some sort EVERYWHERE. Disgusting! We tried to reach out to the hotel via WhatsApp since there was no one at the front desk, but never received a response, even to this day. Sweltering and itchy sleep that night! The next day, a helpful lady (Monica) at the front desk put us in touch with a manager via phone - an absolutely horrible experience with her. She basically told us our complaints were untrue: the heated towel rack "was not broken" (it was), and sheets are washed out-of-house, so "not their problem." Monica was actually nice and told us someone would come fix the heater knob, as well as offered to change sheets. But the fact these problems existed at all, plus manager's response, means this hotel is not recommended at all. Stay away!

We picked this location and we’re really pleased with it apart from the Trash/Rubbish collection every morning on the river but right outside our window. The room was great and very traditional in its design which we absolutely loved. The bathroom in particular was excellent. I would say that the general hotel amenities could be improved. While there was coffee and such available there was no other refreshments. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it.

With AC working this place should be great. Their unit was down and the repair was going to take several days. There were no messages from the property management about the situation. They didn’t show any concern for the guests . They didn’t offer any way to mitigate the situation

Great small hotel in a prime Venetian location. Nadia welcomed warmly us upon our arrival. She gave us a bottle to share, some mineral waters, and great advice our whole stay. We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking a busy canal. It was great to have a prime seat to see Venice at work and play (the noise from this room may bother some, but we loved being close to the action). The room is close to various tourist amenities, but also close to quiet Venetian areas to escape the crowds. The room was spacious, bathroom was nice,, and the bed was comfortable. A great place to stay. We are eager for our next visit.

BEWARE!! First of all, information to get to property was very poor. Operator who answers phone could not find my reservation, said he didn’t know then hung up on me at 10 o’clock at night, freezing cold, door was locked to enter hotel. Then I called back, woman answered and said to take free water taxi. It wasn’t free, cost me $150. Then the next morning and every morning after that for 4 days boats and garbage being exchanged into other boats outside my bedroom window at 6:15 in the morning. My reservation was for 10 days mind you. I complained to manager woman named Tatiana said, and I quote, all hotels have noise, the sheets in 4 days never changed, place felt more like a Hostel. No staff ever offered to accommodate me to another room that didn’t have loading and unloading of trash and cargo every morning at 6:15 am. I checked out after 4 days when I was supposed to stay for 10 days. I couldn’t tolerate this indecent noise so early any more.

The panoramic terrace was incredible. I’ve been to Venice about twenty times and this small hotel was outstanding, atmospheric and close to the train station. I highly recommend the terrace room where you can watch the gondolas floating by underneath!
