We stayed in the hotel following a family event. The room was clean, the beds were not the most comfortable but adequate. There were seven of us for dinner and the best you could say was that it was ok, some of us were luckier than others but it was not good value for money. The continental breakfast was good, the cooked breakfast was poor. My husband’s scrambled eggs were a solid mass and barely warm, as were his baked beans. My son’s crispy bacon roll was an anaemic piece of cooling bacon in a bread roll. My haggis and black pudding was hot and tasty, the rest of my Scottish breakfast was not so appetising.
The waiting staff seemed new and unused to getting the food to the tables quickly. Overall it was a bit disappointing. If you are catching a flight at Prestwick or a ferry from Ardrossan it is ideal for one night but I would not like to spend more than one night there.

We had a lovely overnight stay staff where very helpful and food was delicious, felt spa should have been included in price £20 pp extra was a bit steep, but overall a lovely stay

We booked an overnight stay for a girlie catch up, when looking for somewhere to stay, our criteria included a spa. When we arrived was met by a fairly frosty receptionist that informed us to use spa we would need to pay additional £20 per person for an hour. When we queried this, we was informed it was because we booked through a 3rd party ( £170 for bb).
When we arrived at spa, we checked in to be told “ you can’t use facilities outside as we are far too busy”
Dinner wasn’t included in the price of stay, but we used restaurant anyway. Staff was lovely and friendly. Dinner was pricey but we loved it and happily paid our bill.
Breakfast table was reserved for 9.30, we arrived on time shown to table, we proceeded to hot food buffet, very minimal available. At that time no sign of anything being replenished., which we both found very disappointing.
Room was spotless and bed was very comfortable.
Grounds looked lovely
Would only stay there again if we managed to get a special offer as this turned out to be a very expensive night away
