This is an incredibly cool old building with a lot of character. The staircases seemed original to the building, with stained glass at some landings. Our room had the original wood ceilings still included. Staff is nice and helpful, and check-in is fine. Location was great. Getting into the rooms was confusing; ours had an outer door and an inner door, which we didn't realize at first, and only the inner door has the key card access. Room electricity is via the key card, but the slot wasn't very secure; we had to wiggle or position the card just right to get it to turn on. Probably wouldn't have been an issue at all, but we were very tired when we arrived. Room and bathroom were clean, but I think they're starting to be in need of a refresh, especially the bathroom. There's a phone in the room that apparently only sometimes works; this was only something I found out because I wanted to call down to the lobby instead of walking. I love that they have a coffee machine and a water station in the lobby. We wish they'd had tea for my husband, as other Happyculture locations have had. I enjoyed our stay here, and would consider staying here again.

Solid location-easy and interesting walk to the river and the historic district. Very close to the public transportation hub so easy access to where you might want to go. Our room overlooked a side street where restaurants closed by 9:00 and stores closed 6:00-6:00 so very quiet. Room was clean, staff were as friendly and helpful.

Mary was so accommodating when we arrived and Marc was amazing to us. Very understanding of my needs and took care of us like family. He was telling us that this building is from the 1580s and most of the structure is the same. It’s incredible when you think about that Thank you to the staff for a great stay

Hotel de L’Europe was the perfect hotel for my daughter and I while backpacking Europe. It was an economical choice with a good sized room and an exceptional bathroom with a tub. There was a lot of character in the old town building, with modern conveniences inside. The water filling station with carbonated water, and the free espresso bar, was a nice touch. Good breakfasts

This is a very comfortable hotel with very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are readily available and helpful. Three types of water are available at all times. It’s in the central area of town which is walkable to just about everything. The breakfast is not free but it has everything and more!

The hotel was comfortable if not a little worn in places. It had good air conditioning in extreme weather and the room was spacious . Front reception staff are very friendly and fresh water in bottles offered every day and free coffee. A nice touch

The hotel is about 12min walk from Strasbourg train station, and lots of dinning option around hotel vicinity. Bedroom is not big but well maintain & clean. From hotel, it is a short walk to the canal of Petite France, beautiful scenery both in the morning as well as night. Breakfast variety is reasonable with continental styles. If you want to avoid the hustle bustle and late night noise near Kléber, this area is a good choice.

Great location, comfortable room and bed, very convenient. We would stay here again. The only thing that would have been good is if the hotel could have told us in advance what our parking options were. The hotel no longer offers parking, and the two garages on Google maps near the hotel no longer exist. We spent quite some time searching for parking in the stressful traffic situation that one finds in Strasbourg. I would have preferred to be told to use the public parking that’s a 15 minute walk away, like the hotel in Annecy did a few days prior.

Overall a negative experience: - water in shower did not heat up. We told the staff multiple times but the issue did not get resolved - very little toilet paper. We had to ask at the reception for more - bad surprise with the parking. We had booked the hotel especially for the parking opportunity but it was not available. Positive: - good location in the city center - comfortable and clean room

Pros and cons for this property. Pros- the Family Room was spacious and actually designed for more than 2 people. Staff is great We liked our view and opening the attic windows. Parking is much easier than reviews led me to believe. Call front desk for best assistance. Cons Cleanliness- we found multiple dried out contacts by the beds and in the bathroom. WC air vent/walls had not been addressed in some time, visible staining Multiple lights burnt out in sconces and lamps Noise- it's inside a pedestrian zone in a city, great for exploring, but not quiet.

Room size was very good fitting perfectly our family. However, bunk bed seemed too fragile and mattress of main bed wasn’t comfortable as expected from a hotel. Pillows also not so comfortable. Bathroom was very good size but toilet had no window.
