They were really strict about check in and check out times. My card locked me out right at check out and i had to find ataff to rescue my belongings

Our room was clearly not vacuumed with debris all over the floor. They forgot soap for the bathroom. Their elevators are clearly not up to code and make weird noises and stop at floors with the elevator 6 inches higher than the floor of the hallway so as to prevent the luggage carts from being used. They turn the keycards off at 11:00 exactly and are quite rude when asking to be let in your room to grab your belongings 5 minutes after. Very rude staff.

I rarely write reviews, but this stay was frustrating from start to finish. When I arrived, there was some kind of miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel — DoubleTree’s system showed my reservation as canceled, even though it was still active on Expedia. I ended up waiting almost an hour in the lobby for the refund and had to rebook on the spot. Once I finally got to my room, it looked fine overall, but there was no hair dryer. I called the front desk several times and no one answered, so I had to go downstairs twice just to get one. The first time I was told it was “behind the door,” but it wasn’t — which meant another trip back to the front desk. Finally, I was disappointed that the hotel wouldn’t accommodate a late check-out. Other brands like Marriott and Hyatt have always been flexible with complimentary late check-outs, but DoubleTree told me they couldn’t extend mine because I booked through a third party. They only offered a “discount” instead, which felt unreasonable for a Hilton-brand property. Overall, the room itself was fine, but the service and communication made this stay far below expectations.

Overall we had a nice stay. Convenient location to Ann Arbor for a Michigan game. Nice breakfast in the morning. Nice staff. Bathrooms could be updated… but the room was clean.

I always love the friendliness of the staff at a DoubleTree! There was a very loud party when I returned to my room around 12am, which did make it difficult to fall asleep. The shower also had a stray hair on the ground. This was unusual for a Hilton, and I do plan to return in the future! Just wanted to share my experiences

Bathroom way to small. The toilet height is children size.....seriously have executive mgmt sit down on one of them and tell me that is comfortable.....ridiculous! Just average. No closet in our room. The refrigerator froze all of our food because the door for the freezer was missing and the buffet was not worth the money. We requested the room to be cleaned for just one of the days during our stay and beds were thrown together. Overall nothing was a big deal but just not what I expected for a Hilton.

We stayed in the hotel 3 nights. The staff was not helpful at all. The lobby smelled of gasoline because of roofing work. I asked for my room to be cleaned one out of the 3 days. On that day, we came back at noon and saw that the roon was not clean. The cleaning cart was just 2 rooms away. So we left and came back at 4 pm and still the room was not cleaned. When i called the front desk, i was told that occupied rooms would get cleaned at the end of the shift. I said when is that? The guy said it's 5 pm. I said i was never told that and of all the hotels i stayed at, that's never been the case. For the fumes that were making me dizzy and afraid to eat at the onsite restaurant for breakfast, and the lack of room cleaning, can you give me a hotel credit? The guy said take it up with expedia because you booked with them. Not helpful. Then i went downstairs later to get some wash cloths and garbage bags. I asked for coffee from the coffee dispenser. Can you believe it's $3 and the guy said we don't offer complimentary coffee here. Hello! You want a bad review instead, I asked. The guy asked for my room number and looked away. I told him it'd be such a small gesture. He ignored me. There needs to be better customer service here.

Location was excellent for a U of M visit. Not the best Hilton brand hotel I've been too - bit below average for the brand. There was a strong odor from either an adhesive or petroleum product in the hallway. It smelled like an auto repair shop. I am not sure if the hotel was being renovated or repairing a mechanical problem. Hopefully it was addressed and is no longer an issue.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine. The rest of the stay was not great. They were doing work on the roof (tarring?), and the whole first floor smelled awful, like petroleum vapor. They oddly charged $3 a cup for the lobby coffee, and their breakfast buffet service was overwhelmed - we finished our food before the waitress brought coffee. We’ve stayed here a few times, and each time we’ve thought it was at best average or poor. The other DoubleTree’s have been great, so this still surprises us. We won’t be staying here again, we’ll try other options in the area.

Check in was average, the staff seemed uncomfortable for some reason, not sure if it was for the fact that they had an overwhelming nasty smell of gasoline reeking through the lobby and the first floor hallways or the fact that the manager felt uncomfortable by the presence of people of color. I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt and say it was the first one. The gasoline smell permeated the halls and the jacuzzi was out of order. The elevators were small and cramped. Rooms was clean but for almost 300 a night I expect a bathtub, instead I just got a cramped shower and small sink.
