A good central location with parking and friendly staff. Two reservations. First the double room was very small indeed, with no a/c and the conversion had left low ceilings and small windows. We were much too hot. Second the breakfast was only adequate. We weren’t late, but there was very little cooked food left, little fruit (which was over ripe) and nobody around to ask for more or to top up the platters. That was very disappointing and such food as there was left represented poor value and a poor start to a long days travelling.

Unfortunately, my shower did not work. Despite a complaint and an announcement that it would be repaired, it was not. As there was a bathtub, I could still wash myself.

Although i have both vaccinations, first in the uk followed by the second in Belgium with ample proof the girl on reception wouldn't accept it. I was condemned to my room for the whole stay. Not her fault i know but its also not my fault the cst app can't deal with a little complexity. Tragically i won't be visiting france again until this nonsense leaves us, if it ever does. Also be aware that building work outside the hotel makes it difficult to access the carpark. Hopefully they'll be finished soon.

I stayed 1 night, booked the room the day before. I paid £70. There was cheaper ones around, I preferred Ibis because I knew they would have English speaking staff. Staff was very very friendly and helpful. Room was clean but quite small. There ment to be 2 seperate single beds but they were next to each other. And there was barely space left to pass other side of the room where the wardrobe is. There was no kettle or mini fridge in the room comparing this price. Bathroom was big enough but there was only 1 each big towels. There was no small hand towels or no hair towels. There was minimum of everything in the room which was disappointing. In general it was a nice hotel. They can add more things to the rooms.

The hotel is very well located in the centre. The facilities are ok, but bellow average for an Ibis hotel. Rooms are generally small, cleaning was a little careless as well as some details in the room, that need minor fixes in curtains and bath tube for instance. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was acceptable but could be much better, specially considering that is not included in the room fare. All in all, there were no major issues in my stay but the hotel is clearly overpriced considering the location and services/facilities offered.

Average hotel at a convenient location with nice breakfast and bar. Room was small and overpriced. Could be cleaner. Quiet neighborhood within walking distance from restaurants and bars. Personnel didn't speak much English but were kind and trying to help.

The hotel was undergoing renovation during my visit and, as such, the reception was something of a bomb site! That said, when the hotel is fully refurbished, it will merit a much higher rating, all round.

I was a bit disappointed, I expected more for the price. The room was very basic, no tea making facilities, wooden floors throughout so cold until heating put on. Breakfast was very nice

I have to visit this part of France once a year on business and I always stay in this hotel. I have tried other hotels in the area but none of them compare to this one. The ibis is centrally located and easy to get in and out of. I will be staying here for next few times I travel to this area of France.

Stayed here as a stopover, perfectly adequate hotel. Beds were clean, bathroom was clean and free wifi and parking. Not much to do in Douai itself but definitely would stay here again.

Good hotel for a one night stop to break up a long drive

Good hotel in an excellent location and interesting town. Excellent as a one night stop for going either to or from the Channel. The hotel is in a building which is a listed historic monument and therefore the rooms are not at all to the normal rabbit hutch pattern. Reception staff were warm and helpful.The one snag I discovered was that our room had what appeared to be a desk - I think it was intended to do this. Anyhow it was also a fold away bed which was keen on unfolding and twice deposited my lap top and other bits on the floor! Top tip is, don't lean on the front of the desk!
