On OK place to spend a night while travelling, but not a nice town!

Room accessible via a lift from the car park, so no stairs. Nice restaurant for evening meal. Interesting bed design! Railway very close

Restaurant issued an English menu, but then withdrew it claiming "It was out of date, and they had not prepared a replacement". There was no air conditioning in the room on what was the hottest night of the year, and since the room was ground floor we could not leave the window open (for security). Choices of breakfast food were limited and poorly prepared. The town of Douai is not nice. Too many undesirable looking people about, and confusing traffic layout.

really liked Douai and this hotel and it was a perfect stopover place on our journey up through France

very modern hotel with good facilities and large parking

the hotel is on the main road but there is no access to the parking area from that main road, the parking is located off other roads - I fortunately saw a small sign sending me in the right direction but it would have been nice to know this before turning up at the hotel and perhaps provide some details that I could have put into my sat nab

Temperature

Clean and the staff were very nice. Had everything I needed and breakfast organization was great despite Covid circumstances.

My only negative about this place is a subjective issue with regards to the bedding. There is a layer over the mattress about 5cm thick that is made of polyester stuffing. While I was nice and warm while falling asleep, I woke up both nights and in the morning covered in sweat from the synthetic fibers making it impossible for skin to breathe.
