Casa Holstein Quinta de Sao Sebastiao Sintra

I came to Portugal in search of a beautiful hotel for a very special celebration, and I truly believe I found it here. What I will remember most is the unique atmosphere of this place. From the moment you arrive, you feel transported to another era, surrounded by charm, history, and beautifully curated details. If you appreciate character, patina, and timeless elegance, this hotel is a true gem. Nestled within a beautiful garden, it feels like a peaceful retreat despite its central location. I felt completely at ease from the moment I arrived and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay.

A small improvement would be the addition of down pillows and a little more variety at breakfast. The pool area could also benefit from a light renovation.

Such a beautiful residence and fabulous location. Ample parking as well.

Finding the entrance was a tad tricky but following the street address rather than Google maps paid off.

Gorgeous old building, beautifully appointed with antique furniture, pictures and old photographs, many, intriguingly, of Prince Philip (and Princess Margaret), who holidayed here. Lovely gardens and great views, all sited conveniently between the rail station and old town. We were upgraded to a wonderful suite with HUGE bedroom and large bathroom and small living room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with excellent English. The buffet breakfast was fresh (hot rolls, pastries and boiled eggs) and delicious.

Some might be disappointed at the lack of TV in the room, but we didn't miss it one bit -- enjoy the beautiful scenery outside!

Casa was very humid. We were moved to another room which was much better. Was offered full refund for first night.
