Rosegarden Essence Sintra AL - by Unlock Hotels

I enjoyed the spacious room we were assigned. The beds and pillows were clean, smelled fresh and were comfortable. We had a good night's sleep. The room is furnished to a high standard and with good quality materials, fixtures and soft furnishings. Our room was on the ground floor, which made entering and exiting the property easier for my mum who had reduced mobility. Breakfast: Breakfast was adequate. You could order scrambled eggs, which we did and it was tasty and cooked well. Fresh fruit (sliced), ham, cheese, butter, croissants and a variety of mini rolls were available. Hot water (with a selection of teas) and a jug of coffee was also available. The one staff member who did the breakfast service every day is to be highly commend. She is friendly, warm, excellent at her work and an excellent cook. Parking: We found a place to park in the cul de sac where the hotel is located. As well, there is a huge parking lot 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It's about a 20 minute walk to Sintra town centre and 30 minutes to walk to Sintra town station. It's hilly and the pavement is minuscule. There are buses down the hill and they are very frequent.

I would have liked the hotel management to send me details of how to enter the property out of hours. We arrived at around 9.30 pm and there were no staff. You access the property by calling the out of hours number, and the staff on the line provided me with the gate code, the door code to enter the property and finally the key safe code to get the key to unlock our room door. All this information could have been sent to me before our arrival. Thankfully, my mobile network provider allows me to make EU calls without charge. But the need for calling for access could be eliminated by sending the information securely to arriving guests.

The room wasn’t as seen in booking, but eventually moved up to a better. Very remote up a steep hill. You certainly needed a car. Had to use Ubers.
