The title is so miss leading. Penthouse suggests high class..luxury. it most certainly isn't.

Nothing. It was disgusting. I lasted 10 minutes in the property. I was meant to cook there and stay in for the evening.

It was dirty. . Floor was awful. Wall Heaters have been damaged. Hob is rusty and looks dirty. Sofa was uncomfortable.

The shower was fine

Short let’s not permitted in building so had to enter through underground car park. Lift was broken so we had to climb 7 floors. Place was not clean & the beds were awful. Location was also grim. We had to pay a deposit & it took weeks to get it back

Dis not meet expectations

Not very much. Check in is very late anyway, however we could not access the property until 17:15. The cleaner, who is extremely lovely and helpful was still working.

Pretty much all of it. 6th floor, didgy, tired flat! Lots of damage to the furniture, walls etc. Definitely not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or small children as the lift has been broken for over a year, informed by other residents. The surrounding area is not very desirable and we paid £492.60 for 1 nights stay. A superior apartment, I think not. In the description, there will be wine/champagne for guest on arrival. This most certainly didn't happen. Blinds were missing in the living room. Beds were awful.

Utterly disappointed in the state of the property and feel it should not be listed on Booking.com.

Internally the decorations were nice.

The lift has been out of order for 10 months and we were not advised of this (flat is on 6th floor). We had to enter through a garage then climb 7 flights of stairs with suitcases. Windows were taped in the lounge due to drafts, the main bathroom is out of order and has been since August - including a trip hazard on the floor. We were only informed of the bathroom issue the day of arrival so had to share the ensuite bathroom for the duration of the stay. We were not informed that the lift was out of order at all, it was part of the joining instructions as if it was working. The double mattresses in the bedrooms were extremely uncomfortable, no bin bags left in the property, no teatowels to use in kitchen, plus other issues. Property was not fit for purpose and should not be being rented out in its current state.

Great value for money

The location was good and only a few minutes walk to most things we wanted to do, very nice sized apartment perfect for me and my mates for a night out.

There was few things like the floor in the bathroom being broken but the owner knew about that and was fixing it. The lift to the building also wasn’t working which was a minor inconvenience

Avoid this place unless your stuck.

Not a lot to like. The place is certainly not as advertised - Penthouse would suggest it was somewhat exclusive and well fitted out. It was anything but. 1 of the 2 fans provided (no A/C) didn't work. The shower in the ensuite was truly pathetic with low pressure and the head was damaged with the water spraying outwards and not downwards. The place is more akin to student accommodation.

Most of the experience. Difficulty getting in to the place (no notification on access, we had to ring for instructions). The furniture and bedding was poor to say the least. There were light fittings with no bulbs. There is a hole in the floor of the main bathroom and the extraction fan didn't work. The host wanted me to transfer a deposit to his bank account which I refused to do.

An average apartment and overpriced for the quality and the area

Central to shops and walking distance to services etc. Beds were comfy.

We were told by locals that it was a dodgy area, that is an area for drug deals. We didn't experience any issues but made us feel wary. Traffic noise. A window was broken. Needed to be better maintained. Thought it was not value for money.

Spacious rooms. Good storage in bedrooms and kitchen. Location is great for accessing all different attractions and the docks either on foot or by car.

Should include 3rd bedroom for the price. No tea towels in kitchen, only one oven shelf took too long to cook for family of five. Crockery should be in sets of six not 4 as it has a capacity of or more. Rug in lounge is not clean needs replacing or washing at very least. Sofa is old and worn, needs replacing. Only 2 dining chairs and tiny table. Floor boards around toilet are very unstable didn't feel safe walking on them. Hot water ran out, 3 out of 5 of us had cold showers. Douvet was badly stained. Need mirror in bedrooms. WiFi was not available on first evening but issue was resolved. Not enough towels for 5 paying guests and toilet rolls had to be requested. Could do with pegs on back of bedroom doors. We saw rats every time we walked outside the building to the car park.

Inspiring city.

Very spacious. Comfortable beds. Lovely views ... cityscapes with the occasional ship wafting past! Level with the tops of the trees, so enjoyed watching the birds flying. A lovely stay. Thank you

Upon request, the manager did allow us to drop off our luggage early.

There was no specific address for the apartment so we had to be dropped off on the street in the middle of the block not knowing where to go. I had to call the manager to get more information. There was no wifi, insufficient number of fans, no soap and washcloths to bathe, most uncomfortable sofa, apartment was very hot, and did not have sufficient ventilation or fans, there were no markets are grocery stores nearby to buy food, the apartment lacked any information that would have been helpful to the tenants. There was an electric pot to boil water and instant coffee in kitchen.

ok but disappointing due to first impression of access

the location of the apartment was very central - nice sized rooms. good key access on front door. Comfortable beds, and very big fluffy towels.

access via an underground garage, no key for main door of block of flats so 3 separate codes required to get to flat. The lift to fifth floor was not possible due to the button for 5th floor not working so had to go to 4th floor and walk up the last set of stairs.

Sensational, peaceful, safe and enjoyable!

It was a fantastic penthouse which was very close to the city centre! It exceeded my expectations. The apartment was very clean and tidy, all facilities were working, beds were very comfortable. Wi-Fi was working perfectly fine, you get provided with private parking in a safe area. There is no space for improvement. It was sensational! The views from the apartment are fantastic too! Free tea and coffee refreshments.

Enjoyable stay despite the issues.

Great location, walking distance from everything. Allocated parking space. Large spacious apartment with great views, good bedding and towels. Could be amazing with a some new equipment and attention to detail. Early check in allowed.

No communication regarding exact location, car parking etc until just before estimated arrival and then only after messaging the host. No information booklet with details of WiFi password, rubbish arrangements etc once again had to message host. Requesting a security deposit outside of booking.com via non protected means, ie cash or bank transfer. Did agree to my sending it by PayPal in the end. Would benefit from some new equipment & repairs, one bed broken in triple room, door hanging off of cupboard under the sink, hole in wall in one bedroom, tap in ensuite loose. Also needs new kitchen equipment, only 2 mugs for a flat that sleeps 9 & the only knife has chunks out of it! Also table & chairs only seats 2. No access to get in through pedestrian door, has to be accessed via shutter & underground car park which is not ideal with a small child. Rubbish area a mess, unlocked & rats around it.

Well maintained, modern, clean and central city centre apartment.

Great peaceful but central location. Outstanding facilities, including comfortable living area, good sized beds, modern and clean throughout. Great contact with the owner throughout, who swiftly fixed a minor but unforeseen issue with one of the heaters in one of the rooms. Would definitely stay here again if i needed a place to escape in Southampton. The bonus parts were the views out of the window and how quiet it was compared to other city centre locations i have stayed in.

Avoid it if you can, the reason why it's cheap is that it's not worth staying.

The furniture need totally renew, all the bed and mattresses were in thorow like condition, window's lock was not working and had to tie it. Duets etc are not in condition to use and does not look like those were even replaced from previous host stay.
