The Grand Southampton Stay, Sleeps 12

Great location. Clean. Good value for money. Great view of NYE fireworks in Mayflower Park.

Staircase (spiral) was in poor condition and broken in places. Living/communal area was not big enough for the number of rooms/beds. Not enough crockery for potential number of guests. Toilets did not have a fan or window. No instruction guide/welcome pack. No TV aerial so no access to live TV. Rubbish left from previous guests included nitrous oxide canisters/cylinders in garden. Communal area smelt of cannabis on arrival.

Location was good . Beds were comfortable.

No mirrors outside the bathrooms making it difficult to dry hair. There isn’t sufficient crockery for 12 people. Fortunately we were eating out otherwise this would have been problematic. You would also struggle to seat 12 people in the lounge . We parked our car in the garage however due to laundry at the back of the garage the car was sticking out of the front and the door couldn’t be closed. With no parking outside the property itself this wasn’t ideal. The cleaner came on our first morning even though we had another day at the property. My son explained this to the woman but she proceeded to come in and walk up the stairs while we were getting dressed for the Wedding and only went after phoning to check. This wasn’t really acceptable.
