Loved the privacy of a villa holiday. No queuing for sunbeds. Best to rent a car.

The villa was very nice. I loved the balcony on the upper level and we would sit out there every morning with a coffee or cup of tea. The pool was a good size for our family. The downstairs kitchen and the bedrooms were all a good size, particularly the ones on the upper level. When we arrived at around 11pm, the lights in the garden didn't work, but they were sorted the next day. A chest of drawers or some sort of cupboard would have been very useful in the upstairs double bedroom, to put things on. Great having so many single beds.

I knew we had to pay 50 Euros as we were going to be later arriving, but I didn't realise we would then have to take our passports into the office in Calpe during our stay. I would have liked to have been shown how to open the blinds on the windows when we first arrived, as I hadn't seen any like that before and it wasn't until the next day I figured it out. Had to spend a very hot first night with them closed. The shower in the upper villa was rather hit and miss and we had a few cold showers, also the upstairs kitchen tap sometimes had no hot water. We didn't like the sunbeds as they couldn't be adjusted, so we couldn't lie flat. It was a jaunt back from the supermarket up hills in the heat, so a car would be very useful.
