Great location

Location

Everything is good except during check in. Reception (guy) refused to accept my driving license at check in and demanded my passport even though I am not a foreign guest. Absolutely absurd!!

The location of the hotel is ideally situated right on the main piazza and only a short walk from the city center, grocery shops, local museums, and bus stop to Locarno. The stop for the ferry to the Isole di Brissago and other places on Lago Maggiore is also conveniently right in front of the hotel. The staff at the hotel and the adjacent restaurant are all very professional and friendly. I was able to request an electric water kettle in advance for my room in order to make tea. The water pressure in the shower was also really great and the balcony view from my room was incredible.

The only thing I would have liked would be a mini fridge or a vending machine with waters, etc. Since the local grocery stores close at around 6:30 or 7pm, there is no real way to get anything but tap water unless you order from the hotel restaurant (which is open until about 11pm or so).

Take care when booking - I’ll give myself just one star for not doing that myself.

The upgraded room was very good with a balcony overlooking the lake and effective air conditioning.

The original booked room was outdated, without air conditioning and had a damaged shower tray. With temps outside at 30 degrees, we had to pay for an expensive upgrade. I naively thought no Swiss resort hotel would offer such inadequate rooms at any price. The breakfast was adequate but no better than that.

Amazing location, right next to city center. I had a room with a balcony directly overlooking the lake! The breakfast was well-stocked and delicious. The staff were all very helpful.

Cold water was not always available: for some reason, the water coming out of the cold tap could be anything from cold to almost hot. (Its temperature varied randomly from time to time.)

Quite noisy being above the terraces of the restaurants. People chatting is OK, but there's a lady playing the violin with a speaker, blasting the same 3 cheesy songs over and over again it's VERY annoying. Rooms are quite small and outdated, would be nice to renovate a bit Shower water temperature sometimes acts weird

The view over the lake is fantastic. The location of the hotel is right on the lakeshore, amongst lots of restaurants and cafes. Because of that it was sometimes a little noisy a night - but nothing too bad.

This is quite a traditional hotel so the facilities are not super modern ... but is fine for a few nights stay.

No free parking from Hotel and the next Parking is kinda far away if u often use your car (But for this parking you get a price reduction from the hotel).

Amazing location. The hotel is in front of the lake, great view from the balcony. By the way, the balcony is sunny. It has two restaurants, an important thing during covid times...

The room is small, the balcony as well. There was no Frigobar in the room.
